Finished Sapphire
And here it is!!! Finally finished. A bit smaller than I'd hoped, only 2.25 carats (27% yield for the rough) and 9.8 x 6.6mm, but all in all, a beautiful sparkly stone with a bright, high polish. It's strange, the rough looked lavender, almost pinkish. When I finished the pavilion, the stone looked blue. As I was cutting the crown, the stone looked white, and now finished, the stone looks remarkably like white sapphire, with only hints of a bluish purple around the edges. It's quite striking.
That being said, I'm glad I get to cut something other than an oval or a sapphire again, heh.
