Pure Chocolate Ganache and Strawberry Gelee with
Organic Cream, Shortbread Cookies
and Orangesicle Ice Cream
Divine Scharffenberger chocolate rules the day in our chocolate ganache dessert that is really, I must say, more of a cross between our infamous chocolate pate and a mousse – creamy and rich but with a light airiness about it, too. The chocolate ganache is poured into a chocolate ring and then topped with fresh strawberry gelee made from strawberries grown by Sherri and Margaret (again) down in San Diego. Randall says they’re the best he’s ever tasted. On the side, Britni’s lovely little shortbread cookies and organic cream compliment our new ice cream – Orangesicle – which is our classic Tahitian vanilla bean base mixed with crisp and refreshing sorbet made from gorgeous last of the season navel oranges. Delightful. ”

(19 sleeps to go... I'm having more and more trouble sleeping, as much as I try and relax, I guess my brain is a bit preoccupied with the upcoming travelling-no-more-working-for-six-months... it also makes it very hard to concentrate at work. This isn't helped by the fact it keeps being warm and spring-like. Plus I'm contemplating what work to do next Winter - something in town, so I'm not on the bus for hours every day; same old job at the ski hill, or a job at the ski hill that pays probably half what I'm getting now, and would be really hard work, but could lead to awesome job prospects in the future).
