Godine 1526. putujući pjesnik prilazio je carskoj
prijestolnici Kyotu s njegove istočne strane,
odakle je pucao pogled na ravnicu Kamo.
Ugledavši ravnicu napisao je:
...gledajući prema Kyotu, na domove bogatih i
siromašnih, vidio sam samo jednu kuću tamo
gdje ih je nekada bilo deset. Domovi običnih ljudi
postali su polja. Palača je obrasla u ljetnju travu.
To se riječima ne može izraziti.
