Rescues the classic menu bar in Office 2007

One of the most remarkable changes in Microsoft Office 2007 was the adoption of a new visual style, which dispensed with text menus and keypads to use a tape tabs.

As often happens in these cases, many users have chosen to follow Backward Office to avoid having to face a change of habits that seems radical.

Fortunately, there is a free to rescue the old menus and button bars of earlier versions of Office, thus facilitating the migration to the new interface. Let's see what it is and how it is installed.

The supplement in question is called UBitMenu. It is free for personal use, but also offers commercial MSI package for deployment in corporate environments. Installation could not be easier: simply download the installer and run it. Once you run Word, Powerpoint or Excel, you'll see a new tab available:

Menu tab, added by UBitMenu in addition, will show all the classic menus and keypads by default. Almost all the features of the 2007 version are available, maintaining the appearance of the new drop down menus. For example, the dramatic Powerpoint style selector remains unchanged:

UBitMenu has two drawbacks that must be taken into account. The first is its inability to modify the menus and buttons as they did in Office 2003 and earlier. The other is that it can not be invoked with the Alt key, since the default configuration of Office 2007 prevents it. Problems are quickly forgotten when you consider that it is translated into Spanish and is free – unlike Classic Menu for Office 2007, And payment is translated into fewer languages.

If you were still wondering about the possibility of migrating to the latest version of Office, UBitMenu can help you make the leap and get used to the new user interface without losing productivity on the road.
