User Review Samsung PN50C8000 50-Inch 1080p 3D Plasma HDTV (Black)
I love this TV. It has great black levels without losing details. Critically the blacks get as dark as the bezel in a darkened room. Nice color accuracy. Handles motion like a champ even converting 2D to 3D. Menus are very responsive and even the widgets are snappy. Samsung Apps/Netflix works nice too. I'm really having enjoyable with the 2D to 3D conversion watching sports and taking part in video games. I watched Avatar the opposite evening, and though it wasn't released on 3D Blu ray, the built in converter made it look great. I used to be nervous about Burn In/ Picture Retention, however thus far watching 2.39:1 motion pictures hasn't brought about any issues that don't deal with themselves switching video sources. I must say that there's a buzz sound, however its pretty quiet. Can't hear it in any respect with any audible television volume. My only main beef with this set is the Audio Return Channel and Optical Out only send 2 channel (stereo) audio unless its source is broadcast. So, my PS3 and cable field will solely play dolby directly by means of my receiver - which in my opinion makes ARC pointless. I hope they alter that in an upcoming firmware patch. This TV replaced a UN55B8000 as a result of I was sad with its blacks dropping particulars,movement blur, flashlight impact, and sluggish menus and widgets. I experience none of those problems with this new set. I could not be happier.
Design and Appearance: The Samsung PN50C8000 is a gorgeous TV with lower than a 2" framing bezel and with many design components including a clear neck on the chrome swiveling desk high stand, a matte darkish charcoal metallic end on the bezel body, glossy 1.4" depth, and a darkish black/purple screen. The heavy and attractive accompanying stand swivels to 20 degrees. Samsung calls the bezel a Touch of Color Titanium.|This set combines the bright "pop" of an LED/LCD set with the inky blacks plasma's are rightly famous for. Movement within the sports activities programming have been silky smooth. Battle scenes in the Pacific and the Harm Locker have been very convincing. The beautiful surroundings of the Asian Steppes in Mongol had a presence and vividness that everyone watching commented on. The Fantastic Mr. Fox regarded so good, that for those who had advised me it was a Blu Ray disc, I might not have questioned it. This set has a ton of image adjustment choices which have allowed me to tweak the settings to match the varied sources we watch. Even the PBS feed of Charlie Rose, a notably dark and arduous to make pleasing image has been an improvement.|Having mentioned that, one key factor to get one of the best image is to make the mandatory adjustment. You probably have not done it before, it could be not possible to do becuase there are roughly 100 video settings. I did not need to pay a few hundred dollars for a professional to do it. As a substitute, I used one of many really helpful settings given in an Amazon evaluation and make some minor tweaking. The outcome: wonderful picture. Also, ensure you replace the firmware (fairly easy whether it is related to the internet).}
