I was kept at work by the captains of industry, who assured me (from their corporate offices in maryland) that the roads were safe and sound, and that work would proceed as normal even though we're in the middle of an ice storm.On the way home the roads were horrid. Ice and snow and nothing else. If I hadn't driven those roads twice a day, I wouldn't have even known they were there.Just when I thought everything was going to be all right, the SUV in front of me went into a 360 spin for no apparent reason. I stopped and waited, since he was in the middle of the road, and he pointed himself in the right direction and started moving again. Shortly thereafter, he hit a patch of ice, tried to overcorrect, and went off the road, into a ditch, and up an embankment into the woods.I pulled over and tried to help him get his car out of the ditch, but since it weighs about a ton and a half- well, no dice. I left him when his tow truck showed up. I hope he's gotten wherever he was going without killing himself or anyone else.I must have run at least four stoplights on the way home. They were set for trip switches, and when I can't see the lines, I don't know how to trip the lights. Not my fault, officer.I've been told to report to work at 7:30 tomorrow. I don't think I'm going. Damn the man. Save the Empire. Save the Kitt.
