“Bye Bye Bicycle” is such a cute little name. Too cool to fail and unwrap a band not able to compete with it. Gothenburg vs. Tossene, the band is once again a little gift from the Swedish Indie Pop Scene. Happy disco drumz and guitarz in a pure retro-c86 style, songs like “Footsteps” and “Westside” (I’m gonna send a little post card from the coast / I hope you’ll read the little message that I wrote / a friend of sister’s friend it’s notghin more now”) from the ep “Westside” (Cloudberry 62) are the perfect soundtrack for a summer journey toward the holiday of your life, with Giovanni Leckman and Pietro Doherthy doing the choids on the backyard of your daddy’s car.
The band was born in 2002 on the swedish westcoast, but eversince they found it quite boring and too little inspring, they decided to move on Gothenburg in 2007 they used to hang on a great bicycle robbery. (At least… that’s what the other bands say) soon joined on stage by Nicklas Wennergren from “Mockingbird, Wish Me Luck”.
The fundamental parts of Bye Bye Bicycle meet as early as 2002, this was at the swedish westcoas… At first their music came to be about trivial things and didn’t really matter so much, but pretty soon all that changed. And so they decided Bye Bye Bicycle was for life! Groing up at Swedish westcoast countyside wasn’t the most inspiring , at least not if one’s ambition was to make music. Thats why Bye Bye Bicycle move to Gothenburg in 2007. The thought about the band name “Bye Bye Bicycle” is not sertent but some of the band says it’s from a great bicycle robbery, some says it’s because of the detest of stupid “the” bands. The band has never changed members, this is the impact of the band, their strength in a way. Becasue Bye Bye Bicycle has always been a strictly “members only” when it has been about the making of the music. No one get’s into the band. However since they found themself abit short of hands during live gigs they let in the good friend Nicklas Wennergren From the band “Mockingbird, Wish Me Luck”, as a piano and percussion stand in. Otherwise everything is just as normal in the world of Bye Bye Bicycle, the ambitions is as always skyhigh, and the members has always been waiting for perfect songs before making their debut album! So their own expectations about upcoming debut album “compass” are high by nature. In summer 2008 Bye Bye Bicycle’s debut “compass” are sailing out of Gothenburg port. Time will tell where it all goes, but one thing is for certain, this one is not a sinking ship!
