I really don't want to worry anyone who thinks that I may have fallen off the earth since last tuesday, life just became, well...life last week.While I don't really feel like getting into all the details here, two wonderfully happy things happened last week. 1. My friend Gina announced that she is officially engaged and she requested that I shall be a bridesmaid in her wedding!! Woo Hoo! I was suffering from a bit of "always the BRIDE, never the Bridesmaid" syndrom.2. My friend Jenny had her baby on friday! After 48 hours of induction to no success, little Elizabeth was born last friday night at 8:20 pm. She's teeny-tiny at 5 1/2 lbs but she is 18 inches long. I went to visit them on saturday and man, that baby is cute! Her little head is the size of an orange and her little fingers are only about 1 inch long. She's got long toes, though. Long toe pride! :)Things in school are going well, just busy. My students have their first mid-term on thursday and I get to grade hand-written essays all weekend. Like I was explaining to Josh tonight, I really LOVE teaching and every professor that I know really loves teaching. No professor/teacher EVER likes grading. If you were ever taught to believe that any of your teachers liked grading...they were lying to you. The nice part is that we are going up to visit Mom this weekend (and to paint her house) so at least I don't have to worry about cooking or cleaning all weekend in amongst the tests!!I got a rather amusing email from my mother-in-law this weekend that essentially *asked* "permission" to reschedule Christmas so they could go on a cruise. I say it's amusing, because by the way it was worded, it really was asking for permission from we "children." It's totally fine with us if they go. It sounds like Lori will be busy-ish around then with work and Steve and I are headed to Mom's house for Christmas. She also wants my Christmas list (this is totally normal) so, what I should I ask for?Lori...this one's for you.I want:1 thesis in a canCan that be delivered by March? That would be swell.
