Following the release of the first Bomberman on the FamilyComputer(NES) in 1985, Hudson has released this popular game on virtually every home console, over 60 titles, with the series exceeding 10 million copies in sales.
The "Bomberman" brand extends outside Japan. After the initial North American release on the NES in 1987, Hudson has continued to release new titles on various home console systems in North America, Europe and elsewhere.
The Bomberman series has over 40 titles for mobile phones alone. After providing the mobile phone version to Europe in November 2003, the game has ranked in the top 10 of major carriers. The game has achieved its one millionth download in January 2006, and been named as one of the most popular mobile phone games across Europe.
