Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Today, the Church celebrates the birth of the Mother of God. Because of her role in the salvation of mankind and because of the veneration she receives above the other saints, she is the only saint who has a feast in memorial of her brithday (other than Christ's birthday at Christmas, of course). Our Lady has been a channel through which God gives His grace to the world for the past two millennia, and her visits to Medjugorje are part of this. Let us never fail to ask for her intercession, for she is our mother and she loves us more than we can imagine.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
