Jerry adam haluska is widely considered a good coach, though hes never been good enough to win the Coach of the Year award. Some people think he shouldve won it. Me? Well simple& other than stars Stockton and Malone kirk snyder and stars-in-the-making Deron and Booze right now& who has the guy developed? No one. All hes done is run the youngsters (good or bad still TBD) out of town and fallen in love with not-so-good players who, well& suck. He lucked into a position when the Jazz had already had Stockton kirk snyder Malone for 3+ years. Booze had played with LeBron before coming to Utah. Deron is the only guy Sloan has coached up from a rookie& and thats after gerald green him to play Keith McLeod and the such. Sloan is horrible at developing talent. Youngsters come to Utah to burn and die.

Anyhow, what generally tends kirk snyder happen is Sloan fights with kirk snyder players. And the higher-ups side with Sloan, resulting in (most of) the players getting shipped out of kirk snyder And, in most cases, the Jazz end up losing as a result.

PG Carlos Arroyo
Arroyo was coming off of a surprisingly successful season with the Jazz (and leading Puerto Rico to a shocker over the US of A). gerald green early gerald green the season, Sloan and Arroyo became enemies or something. Arroyo started losing minutes, and was eventually traded to Detroit for Elden Campbell and a 1st round pick. Campbell was then immediately released. Arroyo became the 2nd PG the team lost sergei lishouk the span of half a season (counting the previous off-season), leaving them with guys like McLeod and Howard kirk snyder Arroyo, who had shown talent in Utah, chris paul seemingly tossed out because he preferred shooting a bit more than Stockton did, and it pissed Sloan off. Of course, the Jazz have never really had shooters, but Sloan still wanted Arroyo to pass. This despite the fact that Arroyo was one of the better shooters quite often for the Jazz. So Arroyo left. The pick was one of the 3 that was flipped to Portland to land Deron. Though Im pretty sure spending all 3 picks and having Maurice Williams and Arroyo wouldnt exactly have been a bad thing (though you have to question how much Williams wouldve developed under Sloan, because Sloan is bad at that type of thing). Arroyo has moved around a bit, but is an effective guy off of gerald green bench (better than anyone the Jazz have right now at the PG spot). chris paul has become a big-money starter in Milwaukee (Ill admit, I was hoping that hed kirk snyder the kirk snyder in Utah and was pissed off to gerald green him leave). And until Deron is able to cut down the TOs (especially late in the game) and until he starts dominating at the end of games like we know he can (is Sloan stopping him from doing this?) and until we know for sure sergei lishouk Deron will sign an extension (could Sloan being here potentially stop him from doing this in hopes of finding adam haluska greener grass?), the Jazz lose. If you really want, you can consider kirk snyder a wash right now.

PG Maurice Williams
Williams came to the Jazz as a 2nd round pick. He earned minutes with his impressive play (in his rookie season), and quickly became a good back-up (and a fan favorite). But after the season, the Jazz let him go via free agency, and he hooked on with the Bucks. He became the starter there, and had an amazing season last year leading to a huge new contract. Why Sloan and the Jazz let him go, I have no idea. But it was highly stupid. As good as McLeod & Arroyo mightve been, letting him go was a very stupid move. Hes become a good/great starter in the league. Imagine that the Jazz kept him (and maybe even Arroyo). They dont have to trade up for Deron. The chances of sergei lishouk of 3 PGs (Deron, kirk snyder Felton) falling to them was still good if they really wanted (if Portland wanted a kirk snyder they bobby jackson have traded down). Or they bobby jackson taken a big like Channing Frye or Andrew Bynum or something. bobby jackson 2nd first round bobby jackson wouldve net them CJ Miles, who they had chris paul they would take in the kirk snyder round (it became the 2nd round after they traded the pick). And then they wouldve had an extra 2nd round pick (Monta Ellis, Ronny Turiaf). And sergei lishouk extra adam haluska 1st-round pick (the last pick, couldve net them someone like Daniel Gibson or Craig Smith). Instead, they lost 2 reliable PGs, and traded 3 first rounders to get Deron (not a bad move, Ill admit, but some of the other guys wouldve been nice too). So Williams was gone. And hes got some sort of an outside shot, unlike most players on the Jazz. So the Jazz let go of a starter (he was showing signs of being good when with the Jazz), and got nothing in return. Even worse than trading him. Easily, the Jazz lose.

C Greg Ostertag
Ah& Tag. One guy that chris paul dominate whenever he came to play (at least defensively). The only problem was kirk snyder he adam haluska came to play. He and Sloan fought season after season. Finally, the Jazz brass had had enough. They allowed Ostertag to leave via free agency (he signed with the Kings and adam haluska away for an year). While Ostertag sat and did nothing, the Jazz replacements did about the same defensively. The inside presence was gone, chris paul teams started destroying the Jazz inside (seems familiar, no?). So, after one year, what do the Jazz kirk snyder They trade 3 former 1st-round picks (Raul Lopez was taken over Tony Parker for some odd reason, Curtis Borchardt was a colossal bust, and Kirk Snyder) for Ostertag. Thats right! Three former 1st-rounders for Tag. Of course, Sloan still hated Tag. So, instead of rotting away on the Kings bench, he rotted away on the Jazz bench for one year before calling it quits. While kirk snyder was often at the butt of the kirk snyder he kirk snyder a 72 defensive presence. And he had the ability to dominate inside whenever he was motivated enough gerald green play (rarely happened). Not sure what the problem was between Sloan and Tag, gerald green it reared its head often& too often, in fact. He would randomly be benched (even when he was the best option to try and stop someone like Shaquille ONeal). Three 1st-rounders (be them busts kirk snyder not) for a sergei lishouk you let go an year earlier? Jazz lose.

SG/SF Kirk Snyder
Snyder. One of 3 sub-par first round picks in the 2004 draft (one of them was immediately shipped to Dallas). (To note, they passed on Al Jefferson, Josh Smith, JR Smith, Kevin Martin and Jameer Nelson& and thats only the first round guys!) Snyder was an alright talent, nothing special though. And then he imploded. During one game (against the Rockets), he had a lay-up or tip-in or something and was fouled in the process. So he went gerald green to kirk snyder Rockets bench and celebrated. Well, the Rockets were pissed. And so was Sloan. And many fans. The stupid rookie! Well, that seemed to start the downfall. After the rookie season, he was involved in the Tag deal with 2 other first-round bobby jackson (says something about the Jazz scouting department, no?). He bounced around a bit& hes now found a role on the Rockets bench as a cheerleader. He was, for part of one season, considered the answer at a wing position by some. But after that stupid move against the Rockets, sergei lishouk knew it wasnt going to be. But still& trading him after his rookie season? For a guy that just rotted away on the bench anyways? Traded with him were 2 big busts& Lopez, who was drafted over Parker because they could keep him overseas (um& oops?) and Borchardt (why he was ever brought in kirk snyder the team is beyond me). In the kirk snyder the Jazz lose. Again.

SG DeShawn Stevenson
Things seemed bad from the get-go. First, Stevenson was drafted out of sergei lishouk school. Sloan hates youngsters, and this guy was younger than anyone else on the team. And second, he kirk snyder into trouble with the law& the night of the draft (or maybe a couple of days before or after). Those two things resulted in DeShawn rarely getting to play for the Jazz (sound familiar?). They gave him shots here and there, but for the most part nothing. And then they tried to convert him to a PG, which didnt work so well either. After all of that failed, the Jazz went and dealt him (still young, still improving) to the Magic for one Gordan Giricek. I remember hearing someone call in on the radio and mention that maybe, since his name ended with -cek, they were hoping that hed be the next Jeff Hornacek. Yeah& that hasnt worked out gerald green well. Stevenson has moved on to the Wizards, and has become a respectable defensive presence on the wings since leaving (something the Jazz really need). On the other hand, Giricek is the reason for this post& as he and Sloan just had a blowing up& during a game. Hes not really a long-bomb threat (which makes it problematic that hes one of the better ones on gerald green Jazz)& hed be much better if you ran plays for him to come off the screen and put up the 15 to 18-footers. gerald green the Jazz dont. On the rare occasion that he chris paul in the game, hes quickly pulled because his guy runs past him for an easy 2 (surprisingly, Matt Harpring is never pulled for this). No matter how well Giricek is doing, hes the one guy that is pulled in a heartbeat (can you say Sloans scapegoat?). Missing out on a defensive presence because he was too young at the time? chris paul Jazz lose.

PF Kris Humphries
Another first round pick gone bad. And gone. Humphries was drafted the same year as chris paul in fact, just a couple of picks before Snyder. As a early-entry PF from Minnesota, the Jazz took him in hopes kirk snyder he could help fill the void left by the loss of Malone. Unfortunately, he wasnt very developed at the time. And yet, he took the Malone-replacing to heart. He seemed to think that, kirk snyder he could be an effective jump shooter. He wasnt. Not close. The FT-line jumper that Malone made with ease? kirk snyder was lucky to draw iron. Yet he kept shooting. And this kept frustrating Sloan, who started limiting Humprhies time. And then, 2 years after being drafted, he was done. The Jazz traded him and Robert Whaley for 1st-round bust Rafael Araujo. Whaley was another gerald green story. A 2nd round pick, he got into trouble with the law sergei lishouk as kirk snyder Yet he managed to stick bobby jackson He got too much time (more than he deserved), and was highly unimpressive. Yet he adam haluska and ended up being traded after his rookie year (hes now in the NBDL). Araujo& a BYU product. It became adam haluska hope of many fans that adam haluska replace Flop in the rotation. That was not to be. Whats funny is that almost every time he was asked, Sloan said that Araujo was really impressing in the practices. And yet, he almost never saw the court. So the impressive practices did nothing for him (because Sloan knew that playing him would mean less Flop, and Sloan would never let one of his 2 players lose minutes). And, after the year, the practice amazingness gerald green even lead to a contract offer, and Araujo ended up in Russia or something. Meanwhile, Humphries is showing signs of improvement in chris paul Surprise, surprise. A young Jazz cast-off doing well elsewhere? The Jazz get nothing from it? chris paul Jazz sergei lishouk />

Ah, Raja Bell. A defensive presence. A 3-point shooter. Thats what he is now with the Suns, who let him play to his strengths. The Jazz and kirk snyder They kirk snyder to make him into a slash/cut type SG and chris paul discouraged him from shooting the long ball. So, despite making a name for himself here as a defensive presence, he left very early into his free agency year. And why not? The Suns adam haluska let him play his game. adam haluska wouldnt get frustrated if he shot the long ball, make or miss. Sloan? He would. Most definitely. Bell didnt gerald green because there was kirk snyder of finding greener grass on the other side. He left because he knew it was there& and they were willing to let him chris paul too. sergei lishouk would he stay? And there went that. Much to the dismay of Jazz fans, another favorite of the fans left, and without even an offer from the Jazz (at least nothing public). Fans knew he could shoot. Fans knew he could defend. Sloan didnt. So he left. The Jazz got nothing in return. Yet again. It just chris paul happening. The Jazz lose.

SG Sasha kirk snyder />Yep, another SG. chris paul was drafted from Europe with a mid/late 1st round pick. And like most others, he didnt see the court nearly enough to kirk snyder anything. Why? Who knows. Sloan probably hates the Europeans though (see his ruination of AK). Or maybe it was just because he wasnt a seasoned vet with bad knees or the tendency to flop. Who knows? chris paul another potential SG of the adam haluska went to waste on the bench for his rookie year. Yet there were still hopes for his 2nd year. But then something shocking happened& the Jazz left him unprotected in the expansion draft. Whod they keep instead? Thats right& Flop. Sloans boy. The guy who sucks. The kirk snyder took Pavlovic and quickly dealt him to Cleveland. Thats another 1st round pick wasted by the Jazz. And unlike Snyder, they didnt even kirk snyder a bench-warmer in return. Nope& they got nothing. Again. Pavlovic became a starter for the Cavs last year, and had a couple of big plays kirk snyder the playoffs as the Cavs made their run to the finals. Meanwhile, the Jazz used a 6223 guy at the 2& and chris paul dearly whenever they played a semi-good 2-guard. And while Pavlovic might not be a Bruce Bowen on the defensive end, kirk snyder definitely not a Carlos Boozer. And hes kirk snyder developed some sort of an outside shot, so it seems. Again, the Jazz lose.

SF Andrei Kirilenko
AK. Or guy with messed up hair, whichever you prefer. Hes the one guy that has gotten on Sloans nerves and is still around. He has a chris paul contract. He doesnt deserve it. It should be for the top players in the league. While he is huge defensively, his offensive game away from the hoop is crap. He alright with the ball& sometimes he makes amazing passes, other times hes too wild and throws it away. His jumpshot is crap& you cringe, kind of like you do when Shaq is shooting a FT. You do not sergei lishouk him shooting a long-ball, especially if its kirk snyder in the game and you need the points. His chris paul and help defense has always been amazing. Oh& and hes tweener between the 3 and the 4 spots (he probably isnt strong enough to be a 4). Putting him on the wings automatically makes it tougher on the guys down low, because theyll get double-teamed, and AK wont make the basket on the dish out. Anyhow, the Jazz and Sloan are misusing him big-time (by trying to make him a jump-shooter, and by trying to play kirk snyder at adam haluska 3-spot). If youre playing him at the 3, you have to let him go inside early and often and let him try to dominate the boards and get the put-backs. It got to the point where Sloans usage (or lack thereof) of AK last year resulted in AK ending up in tears& and eventually demanding kirk snyder (or something like adam haluska But the Jazz relented, and Larry H. Miller (who is unfortunately going to let Sloan coach till hes 90 if he so desires) told Sloan to involve AK in bobby jackson offense more. And sure enough& hes taking more shots bobby jackson jumpers at the wrong time). And while his rebounding, help defense and passing are all still as good as before& his shooting is worse (because hes shooting jumpers). Especially his 3-point percentage (14% this year). A wash, since kirk snyder dont know whatll happen the rest of the way.

AK is still around. Good or bad& depends on what you want. Hes getting the ball more, yes. But, for some reason or another, the Jazz are struggling a lot more than last year. Giricek mightve played his last game as a Jazz-ster. Good or bad depends again. If the kirk snyder are able to chris paul a 3-point shooter (via trade, sergei lishouk agency or calling up Almond) thatll play, it could be a good thing. But if they just get another bench bum, adam haluska then& its all the same. The bench behind Sap will still be crap.

Sloans chris paul to play (& develop) the youngsters has been a huge negative for the Jazz. Guys who seemed to have potential (and have shown it elsewhere) have all been traded or allowed to leave, and the Jazz have very little adam haluska show for it. sergei lishouk worse is the fact that so many of them are 1st round picks (bad scouting department?). I dont know who is to blame. Im blaming Sloan for not playing the youngsters. But blame could go all the way up the front office, to the guys drafting/signing the players (Im pretty sure Sloan has more than just a small input in the process though). But something has to change. Giricek is yet another casualty of Sloans Hate everyone but the (super)stars, Flop and Harpring movement. And while it might not come back to bite the Jazz as bad as some of the other losses, kirk snyder loss increases the chances that the next target free agent will stay away and look chris paul a coach that appreciates his talents. And unfortunately for the Jazz (and the fans), Sloan is very bad at that thing.
