Nets point guard Jason Kidd on Monday confirmed what many have suspected for months: He's looking for a way out of New Jersey.

Kidd told ESPN that his agent, Jeff Schwartz, has approached the Nets about getting something done before the Feb. 21 trading deadline. "It's time for all of us to move on," Kidd was quoted as saying.

The report added that Kidd believes a move is needed to help the franchise. Kidd also is the most tradeable of the Nets' core players, the report said, citing the burdensome contracts of Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson.
ESPN's report did not contain any response from the club.

New York-area media long suspected that Kidd was looking for an exit. The team's current situation surely isn't helping matters; New Jersey's on a nine-game losing streak and ninth in the Eastern Conference at 18-26.

NCAA @ NASN:
20.30pm(CET) Louisville vs Connecticut - College Basketball: Earl Clark and the Cardinals will be looking to pick up a road victory against their Big East rivals Jerome Dyson and the Huskies.
22.30pm(CET) Oklahoma State vs Oklahoma - College Basketball: Big 12 rivals go head to head at the Lloyd Noble Center as James Anderson and the Cowboys look to pick up a road win against Blake Griffin and the Sooners.

Kidd, 34, told ESPN that he would be fine with going to just a more competitive team and not only to a Finals contender. Last season the Nets were close to trading Kidd to the Lakers, but the deal died when L.A. refused to include young center Andrew Bynum.
