WANDERING IN CENTRAL AMERICA
The idea was in my mind long time ago - explore the Mayan pyramids by walking thru jungles dwelled by jaguars, spiders, poisonous snakes, then cool down into beautiful lakes, hike a volcano, have a rest in hot springs, enjoy magnificient waterfalls, visit pitoresque cities, buy nice pots and rugs in colorful bazaars, learn spanish, meet extraordinary native people and share a dish with them... But where is all that possible? In Central America!
OUR ITINERARY:
Feb 12: flight to London, staying in Northampton with a friend
Feb 14: flight London (9.20) - Miami - Guatemala City (22.30)

Feb 15-20: wander around GUATEMALA, visit Antigua, swim in Lake Atitlan, hike Pacaya volcano, buying local products (pots, masks, rugs, clothes) in Chichicastenango bazaar, relax in hot springs, back to Guatemala City

Feb 21: bus to EL SALVADOR
Feb 22-25: travelling around the country - visit Santa Ana and parks reserves, hike a volcano, stay in the capital San Salvador, go to the mountains, chill on La Union beach

Feb 26: bus to NICARAGUA
Feb 27-28: visit cities Masaya and Granada, Lake Nicaragua

March 1: bus to COSTA RICA
March 2-8: visit national parks, rain forests, do a zip-line and canopy tour from tree to tree high in the sky, hike Arenal volcano, chill on beaches, and more beaches

March 9: bus to HONDURAS
March 10-13: hike to magnificient waterfalls, visit capital Tegucigalpa, ferry to Islas de Bahia (Utila island), chill on caribbean beaches

March 14: bus to BELIZE
March 15-17: chill on cayos, white-sand beaches, dive with sharks and sting-rays, walk into jungles, looking for waterfalls, caves and jaguars

March 18: bus to Tikal ruins (back in GUATEMALA), the largest Mayan empire with the highest pyramids in all of Central America
March 19: from Tikal to Guatemala City by chicken bus in 12-14 hours on dirty, white roads

March 20: flight from Guatemala City to MIAMI
March 21-24: staying in Miami with a brazilian friend

March 25: flight back home Miami (9.30) - London - Ljubljana (19.50)
