I wasn't reading comics when I was introduced to DCAU Tim and while I liked him and wished they didn't screw him over in ROTJ, the more I think about it, the more interesting it would have been if they stuck to Tim's origin story and made him discover who Batman and Robin were.

You see, DCAU Tim was an amalgamation of Jason Todd and Tim Drake.
DCAU Tim has a very similar origin as Jason, and carries alot of the same traits.
The whole point of ROTJ was to mirror the effect Jason's death had in the regular DCU.
IMO, what they did to Tim was far more horrible than what happened to Jason.
It was extremely morbid, but that was what made it powerful.

Annoying.
One thing I was disapointed about with DCAU Tim was that I feel they didn't use him enough or to his whole potential and we didn't really see a lot of interaction between him and Nightwing

Yeah, I've to buy as many back issues of Gotham Knights as I can but the well runs dry after you drink a lot of water.The more I think about it, the best way that they could have started TNBA would have been a two parter where Tim discovers Bruce and Dick's secret but somehow, his father gets killed and Bruce takes him in as his ward and the new Robin
