My Baby Just Cares for Me is a song written ruth etting Walter Donaldson with lyrics by Gus Kahn. It was one of three hit songs from the 1928 musical Whoopee, starring Eddie Cantor and Ruth Etting. It is best known as the signature tune of singer and pianist Nina Simone.Simone ruth etting the song in 1958 for her debut album, Little Girl Blue. The track remained relatively obscure until when it was used in a UK television commercial for Chanel No. 5 perfume. It was subsequently released as a single and became one of Simones biggest hits.
