Mark Montieth's Pacer "Insider" blogApparently, Mark has heard the rumbles of discontent, and he's...ummm...urging patience:Mark Monteith wrote: the time machine Now, most of you know that I tend to view Mark Monteith as little more than a publicist for the Pacers.
A mouthpiece who maintains the appearance of the arms-length relationship, but really tends to be a tool through which TPTB address certain issues in the media when they don't want any "fingerprints" on it.The opening could be prepping us for the type of summer that pf noted in the Herb Simon thread he bumped.However, I found these tidbits interesting:Quote: mark siegel and...Quote: mark siegel Hmmm... The second paris hilton sex tape on it was me.
I quote myself"Mark I agree with you to some capacity.
The thing the fans are being impatient about is because we don't know what is going on.
We are the Timberwolves of the east.
We don't know whats going on with our star, We are strickened with bad contracts, Have a little chemistry mark siegel and just don't know the direction of our team.
That is the one reason why we are waiting for a move or a free agency signing.
If we traded O'neal we would immediately know the direction we are going.
Same with free agency.
Here is a rumor I found...
Supposedly we are holding of on a deal centered around Nenad Krstic and Richard Jefferson of the Nets and if we can not persuade the Lakers to give Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odom, we may pull the trigger.
I personally think the Nets offer isn't enough, considering we are already loaded with forwards." I suppose that I agree with Montieth, albeit with great reluctance and trepidation.
I don't think the Pacers NEED to make a trade because we could mark siegel be the 4th or 5th best team in the East this year.
Two reasons: 1.) I think O'Brien is a much better coach for US RIGHT NOW than Carlisle was.
Look what he did with the Celtics and Sixers, both of which had questionable locker-room cultures when he started.
Early reports are that the players have noticed a substantial change in style and are positive about it.
2.) We mark siegel some solid young pieces that will have another year under their belt, a recently-revamped roster (Murph, Ike, MD2, plus Quis, sort-of) that will have finally had quality practice time together, and six months or so of healing for injury mark siegel (JOs knees).HOWEVER, I think the Pacers SHOULD make a significant trade or FA acquisition to revitalize the fan base and show people they are committed to fielding a quality team on the floor and off it.
It seems that people's patience has worn thin with shallow promises of change coming from LB every year, with it never happening.
I hope Montieth is right with his timeline and I hope that we will be excitedly talking about winning a championship someday with our recently-revamped roster (featuring RJ and Nenad plus a future 1st) in a month or so. mark siegel I expect a mark siegel santa radar up point guard to be added and little else.
We'll probably want to keep JO.Shooting guard is no longer an issue, assuming the Pacers think Kareem Rush mark siegel make shots and Marquis Daniels can return healthy and able to play.
Dunleavy, Daniels, and Rush at shooting guard, all able to play, gives us a lot of versatility.
Decent depth. Only thing missing is a top tier player at the position(like Reggie was).At point guard, it appears O'Brien is comfortable with Tinsley.
Plus the Pacers have probably already discovered they can't get anyone worth having for him anyway.
Still need a quality backup badly, though.All that being said, the Pacers will shop all summer.
Anything can happen.
But, at this point I think they kind of like the way the team looks.
Hope they are right.Last edited by pacerfan on Tue Jul 10, 2007 7:23 pm;
Edited 1 time in total Im thinking JO doesnt get dealt until midseason when teams may be willing to cough more up.
Its not mark siegel to me like anybody is willing to do that so far this summer and we all know Larry wont trade him for a rip.
I feel JO wants dealt so he probably will be eventually.
I wouldnt expect much before the season outside of a minor PG signing as someone else said.
I guess depending upon mark siegel the Kobe situation goes, the Lakers may be somewhat forced to reconsider giving us Bynum like we apparently had wanted.
As great as we all know Kobe is, in Southern Cali he might as well be a god and I cant see the Lakers not making moves that please Kobe.Last edited by 23artest23 on Tue Jul 10, 2007 8:27 pm;
Edited 1 time in total I have a feeling the Pacers will get Atkins, considering he fits so well.
He can hit the three, run the offense, hassle on D, and is a solid rotation player. mark siegel Jeremy1215 wrote: i'd be in favor for the right price but i'm thinking he'll want to go to a place where he can start (like cleveland or either LA team) than be jamaal tinsley's backup. www.apple.com/ipod/start mark siegel Fdefore wrote: He will be 34yrs old on Aug.
14th The sorry Mem.
Squad no longerwanted him and took point guards the past {2} years in the 1st round toreplace him , etc.I do not think afton smith has the power to dictate where he plays based on a socalled " starting " assignment. No one's saying Atkins is the longterm answer (that's why Memphis drafted PG's), but could he help hold down the fort until we can come up with a longterm answer?
