Even better - try to get hold of some Kinesio Tape (www.kinesiotaping.com).
I use it as a physical therapist and it helps support like nothing else.If you need to cough, try to support the area with a cushion and gentle pressure.
To help stop sneezing, press just under your nose as hard as you can (where your nose meets the top lip in the middle) - its an accupuncture point that works great.Just hang in there - it will get better but hurts like hell.
Keep trying to take deep breaths (as pain allows)- that will minimize the chances of lung problems developing.
None really you become a really easy targe for pnumonia best thing wrap them in ace bandages andtake it easy for a long time Lots of good pain relief and just rest can't use a cast or anything.
You will need respiratory therapy blowing in a bottle for your ribs and muscles to get strong and fine again.
rib roast cooking time rib roast cooking time Wrapping or nothing but rest With my brother-in-law, the doctor wrapped his chest and gave him antibiotic and pain pills, and a pat and the back.
Sorry. Wear a rib belt and take it easy...in my own personal experience..that's what the hospital told me..and then i got rid of the sob who broke them..
Sorry-there is really no treatment, I have broken mine on both sides multiple times.
If they are broken badly, they are set--but if they are still aligned, the doctor does nothing but give you pain relievers.
It causes breathing to be more difficult and there is a risk of pneumonia.
The doctor tells you to either take it easy ( risk from inactivity) or keep moving.
It is difficult to laugh,hiccup,sneeze-because the pressure on the diaphragm also pressures the ribs.
If they are bad enough, tape will help to keep them immobile, but other than that, time is the healer Pain killers.whatever u do avoid laughing, hurt like a mother !
Wrap your chest to stabilize I think now all they will do is give you painkillers, they used to strap it up, but they seem to have stopped doing that now .
