Dec 15, 2007 (Sat): Here at Casellula we love a good wine. And a good bargain. We also love the obscure, unusual, unfamiliar and downright odd. So of course we are in love with Bibich Wines from the region of Dalmatia. Wine maker Alen Bibich will join us for a tasting of several of his wines. He also has promised to bring some Dalmatian Cheese!
We will taste their Reserva, from the grapes Babich, Plavina and Lasin; "Debit," a white wine made from a grape that was once, as the name implies, used as a form of currency; Grenache Reserve, aged in French Oak for 12 months; and Sangreal Shiraz, a dark, rich red from 40 year old vines. $45 per person, payable in dollars or obscure, Croatian grapes.
