Bury is a mid-table Ryman North club and Maidstone are a good home team in the Ryman Premier. They're also the worst away team in the world and if they managed to draw (1:1) at Bury, well then I have nothing else to expect here than a strong home win. Bury have 0-3-1 away in their league this season (at home they're quite good) and they played only one league match this month – it was a 0:2 home defeat to Redbridge. A week ago, they lost 1:4 at home to Needham in the Suffolk Cup.
Yes, Staines lost 5:2 yesterday to a team from league below in the FA Trophy, but Staines are playing at mighty Woking this Saturday in the FA Cup 4th qualifying round and their minds were probably already in the FA Cup, not FA Trophy. Maidstone lost at Billericay in the FA Cup 2nd round and they should take the FA Trophy very seriously. At least their supporters take it seriously and with their help, Maidstone should win this game. Maidstone had five home wins in a row before sharing points (2:2) with 7th Harrow this Saturday, but Harrow are a good team this season and they score a lot of goals, home and away. Maidstone are currently 16th in the Ryman Premier, because they lost all six away matches but at home – they should be strong enough for Bury and I like these odds very much so – 5 units for me, please.
