Chelmsford – Hendon 1 (1.75 @Sportingbet) 4 units
Both great teams this season (Hendon surprisingly because their budget can't even try and compare with Chelmsford's or Wimbledon's budget), but Chelmsford are superior at home (5 matches, 5 wins, goal difference 18:3) and Hendon are not the best away team (3-2-1, also lost away at league rivals Hornchurch in the FA Cup). They had to settle with a draw at 20th Ashford and 18th Heybridge, and 6th East Thurrock went a step further to beat them 3:2 in September. Hendon's most recent results have been pretty poor (4:4 away at 20th Ashford, 1:1 at home against 14th Harlow this Saturday – it was arguably their worst match of the season) and I don't think they will remain on top of the table for much longer. Hendon won their away matches at 9th Harrow, 15th Margate and 16th Carshalton.
4:1 against 7th Boreham Wood, 7:0 against 17th Maidstone, 2:0 against 6th East Thurrock, 3:1 against 21th Wealdstone, 2:1 against 14th Harlow. These are the Chelmsford home wins and I think they'all add one more to that list after this match. It wasn't supposed to be a big derby, Hendon were mid-table in all the pre-season and start-of-the-season predictions, but it turned out to be a match between the two best outfits of the first part of the 07/08 season. Chelmsford have some big injury problems and got kicked out of the FA Cup this weekend (they lost 0:1 at Conference South, league above, outfit Hayes & Yeading), but they have a big squad and I still think they will win this one (they even brought in a young ex-Arsenal striker). But, the draw could happen here too, so if you want to be extra-careful, you know what to do. StanJames and Bet365 both offer 3.75 for a draw...
