Sligo face personnel problems for Bohs trip
April 5, 2007
Sligo Rovers caretaker manager Leo Tierney and Dessie Cawley could be without as many as six regular first-team players for Good Friday night’s game against Bohemians.
The Dalymount Park clash marks a Rovers reunion with former boss Sean Connor, who left the Showgrounds to take charge of Bohs towards the end of last season.
Cawley and Tierney took charge on a caretaker basis following the departure of Rob McDonald in pre-season, and the pair have guided Sligo to third place in the table following three wins in four Premier Division games to date.
However, the Bit O’Red will be markedly under-strength for the trip to Phibsboro, with key midfielder Conor O’Grady ruled out by a suspension and Ireland under-21 midfielder Gary Curran, winger Brian Cash and defender Kevin Julian all sidelined through injury.
In addition, goalkeeper Richard Brush and centre half Gavin Peers are both rated doubtful having picked up injuries during last week’s win over UCD.
Should Brush miss out, close-season signing Tommy Arcaba will come into the side for his competitive debut, while Chris Turner or Zoltan Vasas could deputize for Julian and Peers alongside the impressive Jamie McKenzie in the centre of defence.
Nikad ne trpam na nogomet, ali ovo bum probal i s hendikepom (3.40), pa kad nadodam hendikep na Dundalk (2.70) koji dere sve živo, mogla bi mi se nasmješiti i lagana uskršnjica. A možda i zavolem fudbal.
sretno braćo
