Here are couple of words in english since I got a lot of requests from my non-Croatian friends! :)) You can understand photos so that's a good part!
I just wanted to let you know that I'm having a wonderful time here at the Culinary Institute. I met a lot of nice people, and the teachers that I have are absolutely amazing! School's great, I'm doing pretty good, sometimes I'm struggling with the whole language barrier issue, but other then that, I enjoy it so much.
I spent this saturday in NYC, and I had a great time. I went with 4 other friends (you can see them on the photos), and we went with the car and it took us an hour and a half to get there! I have one more day off tomorrow, because it's President's day holiday, so I'm pretty excited even though I'm not doing anything special...homework!!
I'm not in the kitchens, well bakeshops to be more precise yet, but after this block I am! Right now I have principles of design and baking ingredients and equipment technology class, and I have it for 2 more weeks. Then I finally get into the kitchens, I have Skill Development (for Bakers), and after 3 weeks of that I'm having bread class!! Yeeey! I forgot to mention that everything goes by blocks here, so you have like at the begining 5 classes for 6 weekes (that was B block), then 3 classes for 3 weeks (that's C block where I'm right now), and then you get into the kitchen/bakeshop and there are no more theory classes, just practice practice practice! And every upcoming block is 3 weeks long.
