Sylvester Stallone will retire from acting after shooting his new Rambo movie. The action hero, who will begin working on Rambo 4: In The Serpent's Eye early next year, has revealed he will continue to work in Hollywood - but only as a director.
Sylvester explained: "After I make this movie, I see my future as a director. I've been displeased with my last few films, as well as some in the past."
Rambo 4: In The Serpent's Eye will see Vietnam veteran John Rambo rescuing missing missionaries in Thailand. The 60-year-old actor enjoyed massive box office success in the 70s and 80s with the Rocky and Rambo movies but has often failed to impress critics.
Sylvester, affectionately known as Sly, penned script for the first Rocky movie and wrote and directed Rocky II, Rocky III and Rocky IV. However, he has won more Golden Raspberry Awards - given for the worst film performances of the year - than any other actor in history.
Rocky Balboa - the sixth film in the series - is scheduled to be released in December
