How Did iT feel? How Did It FeeL?

Cekao sam godinama to see the legend that is Bob Dylan in concert. Ja sam inace a huge fan of Dylan, he is for me, the best song writer the world has ever seen.
Being a Dylan fan, I knew what to expect. He never has been that great live - although Budokan is fantastic - he wasn't particularly great in LA. He sat the entire show, dressed in a black suit, playing the keyboards with his head bowed, stammering over the microphone. The band was tight, the drummer banging away, there were lots of guitarists, all lined up in a row. Nije bilo puno improvizacije.
Dylan's songs are not ideal for blurting out over hundreds of watts of musical equipment, they are delicate, sensitive, and hugely provoking, they bring furniture to an otherwise empty room in the minds eye. So how can he deliver on the stage? The best bet is intimacy, him alone playing the guitar, even being that old, and that out of voice, it would still have offered more to the audience. Instead we had to put up with long solo guitar efforts, and lots of country-blues, fast tempo playing.
So was it that bad? No, of course not. In reality it was still brilliant. Just to be in the same room as Dylan is a pleasure. He played only 4 very known songs, the crowd went mad for Like a Rolling Stone, screaming out the chorus lines, "how does it feel? how does it feel? To be on your own, with no direction home. Like a rolling stone!", and Just Like a Woman was breathtakingly sublime, the audience softly singing "just like a woman", it really was a beautiful moment. You just wish the gig was more intimate, and more acoustic - but we all know how Dylan doens't give a shit about that aspect! The show was only 1 1/2 hrs long, he didn't say a word, no thank you, no hello LA, no how are you, not a word, he briefly introduced his 5 piece band and was gone, no encore or any of that stuff. But, that's Dylan, boo him if you want, it wouldn't be the 1st time (Judas!)
