This was my 1st Christmas when I had a decent amount of my own money to spend on people dear to me. I was doing some serious spending and it was worth it. I went to that CD shop in Preradoviæeva to buy some CDs for my father. I was really in the hurry and I went to ask for some recomondations from the really big guy at the counter. I told him about what my father likes and suddenly he had many suggestions. By that time I figured that I will not be able to leave that place any time soon. The guy played some CDs, he was telling me about how he was planning some sindicate field trip just to go to London to buy some record he was offering me. He was air-guitaring and telling me how he cannot believe how one can make music that great. I was so in the hurry but I did not want to interrupt his moment! I bought 2 CDs and left the building before he played another...I had fun. All in all, dad was satisfied with „my“ choice.

Now that I mentioned air guitaring I must write something about it. I always made fun of those older metal fans who come to clubs, take a beer and do some serious air-guitaring without noticing anyone around them. I call that passion and devotion. For those who are not imformed - an Air guitar is the imaginary instrument used when pretending to play guitar. Playing an air guitar consists of an exaggerated strumming motion and is often coupled with loud singing or lip-synching. Air guitar is generally used in the imaginary simulation of loud electric guitar music, especially rock, heavy metal, and so on. Although it is acceptable to play air guitar to acoustic songs, it is an act traditionally left to rock. Headbanging is often used in conjunction with an air guitar. There are real contest in air guitaring skills such as the air guitar world championship. Also, air guitaring has reacher a whole new level with innovation. Some time ago I red somewhere that some guys from Helsinki University of Technology came up with so called Virtual Air Guitar. They say it is a new way of experiencing music. It is an instrument literally played in the air: no strings, no keys, just you, free to perform. Anyone can play air guitar, so everyone is able to play the Virtual Air Guitar as well. All you need is a pair of orange gloves and a rock'n'roll attitude. The goal is to provide people without musical skills the chance to experience the fun of playing and creating music, and to expand their concept of listening music to experiencing it. Playing the Air Guitar is simple. You pull on a pair of orange gloves, press the start pedal, and rock on. Take a playing pose as if you were holding an imaginary guitar - left hand on the guitar's neck, and right hand near your hip. You will see yourself on a TV screen, with your orange gloves highlighted.
If you do not have anything better to do, put some gloves on, play some happy tunes and go crazy!
