Ali G: So does vets mainly look after sick animals?
Vet: No we do a lot of preventive medicine, reproductive work and everything.
Ali G: Why was there so many sick animals in Vietnam?
Vet: There werent that many sick animals in Vietnam.
Ali G: But werent like there millions of Vietnam vets?
Vet: Youre confusing terminology here. Ok, a veterinarian is a doctor of veterinary medicine. Hes a person that
treats animals.
Ali G: Fo real. Ahh I is getting it. So loads of people went to Vietnam and then treated animals there?
Vet: No, no, no youre confusing the term. Im a veteran but Im also a veterinarian because I served time as a
veterinarian in the military.
Ali G: Fo real. So why does so many of doze people from the military den later on in life want to start workin with
animals?
Vet: They dont, they can do whatever they want to. Theres no relation between a veteran of the military and a
veterinarian.
Ali G: Aight, respek. And you is?
Vet: Im both.
Ali G: Oh man thats so confusin. I dont understand it. So to make dis clear to young people out there, people who
fights in wars is called veterinarians
Vet: No, are called veterans.
Ali G: Whatever, veterans. People who does the animal thing is called veterinar.. veteri.. veterans.
Vet: No, veterinarians. V E T E R I N A R its veterinarians.
Ali G: When you was a kid did you know you dat wanted to grow up to be a veteran?
Vet: Well youre still confusing, just forget the word veteran, please.
Ali G: Alright, how often is animals hactually sick and how often is they fakin it just so dem can get a day off
work?
Vet: Animals arent faking it to get a day off work.
Ali G: But what does you do if deres like a knock your door and deres like a goat out dere whatever and he says hes
got flu but you know hes lying? Does he tell the farmer?
Vet: The goat doesnt talk to us. Its the farmer that talks to us.
