As I sit beneath an endless sky
And I stare up at the stars
I wonder what you're doing
Who you're with and where you are

And those stars they stare back at me
A blank stare, with no reply
The moon is just as silent
The only sound my defeated sigh

You're out there somewhere as I sit
I wonder if I am on your mind
Those stars are still soundless
Quietly they still shine

I mourn about the distance
That lies between you and I
The stars, they show their sympathy
Yet no answers from the sky

But when I think about it
You're under these same stars
And though I cannot see you
We really aren't so far apart
