Zlatni medvjed u Berlinu: Grbavica!! BRAVO!! BRAVO!!
Film "Grbavica" rediteljke Jasmile Žbaniæ dobitnik je Zlatnog medvjeda na Berlinaleu
Igrani prvijenac rediteljke Jasmile Žbaniæ "Grbavica" dobio je glavnu nagradu 56. meðunarodnog filmskog festivala "Berlinale."
Prilikom primanja nagrade Jasmila Žbaniæ Izjavila je da æe "pokušati ostati mirna jer sve ovo sanja i kada se probudi za pet minuta biæe u Sarajevu".
Žbaniæ je, takoðe, napomenula da su "Karadžiæ i Mladiæ, koji su organizovali silovanja 20 000 žena, još uvijek na slobodi i da joj je žao što nema interesa da ih se uhapsi."
Takoðe je uz osmijeh dodala da se nada da se "Zlatni medvjed" neæe razoèarati kad se vrati u BiH."

Der Goldene Bär für den besten Film der 56. Berlinale ist an den bosnischen Beitrag "Grbavica" von Regisseurin Jasmila Žbanic gegangen. Den Großen Preis der Jury erhielten die Filme "En Soap" und "Offside" gemeinsam. Als beste Hauptdarsteller wurden Moritz Bleibtreu ("Elementarteilchen") und Sandra Hüller ("Requiem") mit dem Silbernen Bären ausgezeichnet. Der Preis für die beste Regieleistung ging an den Briten Michael Winterbottom für seine Dokumentation "The Road to Guantanamo"
Das bosnische Drama "Grbavica" gehörte zwar nicht unbedingt zu den ganz großen Favoriten für den Goldenen Bären, doch der Preis kam nicht ganz so überraschend wie im letzten Jahr für das südafrikanische Musikdrama "U-Carmen in eKhayelitsha". Der Erstlingsfilm von Jasmila Žbanic erhielt durchweg gute Kritiken. Hauptdarstellerin Mirjana Karanovic wurde für ihre bewegende Darstellung einer im Balkankrieg vergewaltigten Frau, die ihrer Tochter die schreckliche Wahrheit über ihre Herkunft verschweigt, als mögliche Kandidatin für den Preis für die beste Hauptdarstellerin gehandelt. Noch im Vorfeld der Bärenverleihung erhielt der Film den Preis der Ökumenischen Jury.

Commending the event she thanked festival director Dieter Kosslick and the event's organizers for "being so liberal to invite such a small film, from a small country with a small budget..."

Prizes of the Ecumenical Jury
Since 1992, the international film organisations of the Protestant and Catholic Churches - INTERFILM and SIGNIS - have been represented by the Ecumenical Jury. It consists of six members and awards its main prize to a film entered in the Competition. It also awards two other prizes, both worth 2,500 Euros, one to a film from the Panorama and one to a film in the Forum. The prizes go to directors who have succeeded in portraying actions or human experiences that are in keeping with the Gospels, or in sensitising viewers to spiritual, human or social values. Members of the ecumenical jury 2006 are: Jörg Herrmann (Germany), Milja Radovic (Serbia), Marius Sopterean (Romania), Christine Stark (Switzerland, jury president), David Tlapek (USA), Prof. Dr. Reinhold Zwick (Germany).
