elend je neoclassic/darkambient projekt kojeg su osnovali Iskandar Hasnawi i Renaud Tchriner, obadvojica skladatelji i multiinstrumentalisti.Prvi dio diskografije sastavljen od 3 albuma se nalazi pod jednim imenom OFFICIUM TENEBRARUM , a sastoji se od albuma Lecons de tenebres, Les tenebres du dehores i The Umbersun/Au trefonds des tenebres. Trilogija obrađuje temu pobune i pada prvog i najvišeg arkanđela u kršćanskoj mitologiji - Lucifera.Svaki album obrađuje pojedinu fazu priče.Prvi album je naj depresivniji, drugi je pun agresije i energija, a treći je do sad najmračniji elendov album, jer obrađuje teme vezane uz smrt.
Drugi dio diskografije naziva se WINDS i sastoji se od Winds devouring men i Sunwar the dead, obrađuje neke osobne teme vezane uz grčku filozofiju.
Za The Umbersun i mini album The Weeping nights koristili su najviše glazbenika- imali su na raspolaganju cijeli post-romantistički orkestar plus udaraljke, zbor i razne vrste vokala od soprana i georgijanskih zborova, do narativnih dijelova i užasnih vriskova i krikova.To su utpotpunili nekim elektroničkim zvukovima i samplovima, te su pojedine instrumente snimili više puta i zaobišli klasično komponiranje i dogme klasične glazbe u širokom luku.
Najviše sam zadivljen sa the Umbersun-om, prefenomenalno .stvarno savršen album-od apokaliptičnih pjesama s krikovima do mirnih pjesama sa opuštajućim ženskim (nepreseratorskim) vokalima....jeeeeebo teeee
