EROTICA...romance...
Erotica, Madonnin sljedeći, peti studijski album, bio je Erotica iz 1992. godine. Album EROTICA predstavlja novu Madonnu koja ne bježi od seks-skandala i erotiziranaja same sebe. Videospot za pjesmu Erotica je također nabijen seksualnošću ali nije bio zabranjen na televiziji već se smio emitirati samo u večernjim satima. Madonna se dotiče tema u pjesmama kao što su homoseksualnost (Deeper and Deeper), samoubojstvo (In this life), neuzvraćena ljubav (Rain). Krajem godine Madonna objavljuje kontroverznu autobiografiju "SEX", knjigu koja obiluje pornografskim fotografijama najčešće nje same, koju su i kritika i šira javnost "pokopale". Kritičari su uživali dok su se obrušavali na karijeru ove Materijalne Djevojke, tvrdeći da je definitivno i fatalno pogriješila u timingu. Ali, iako možda nije imao toliki uticaj kao njeni raniji radovi, budući da je prodan 5 milijuna primjeraka, bilo je jasno da je album Erotica produkt zrelog glazbenog uma!
