What is alcoholism, exactly?

When the gods wish to punish us, they answer our prayers.
There is only one success - to be able to spend your life in your own way.
Therefore search and see if there is not some place where you may invest your humanity.
One of the lessons of history is that nothing is often a good thing to do and always a clever thing to say.
Anyone who has gumption knows what it is, and anyone who hasn't can never know what it is. So there is no need of defining it.
When we are unhurried and wise, we perceive that only great and worthy things have any permanent and absolute existence, that petty fears and petty pleasures are but the shadow of the reality.
I think people want their illusions and writers are mostly illusion. When you read their words, you read a flattened, incomplete version of the writer.
