Jim Lindberg, former lead singer of Pennywise, has unveiled his own band, The Black Pacific. The band is headquartered in Huntington Beach, California and has posted a song called “The System” on their MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/blackpacific) and their official website. No further information about this project has been revealed, but according to their MySpace page they are currently signed to SideOneDummy Records and appear to be in the midst of recording an album or EP.
Until last year, Lindberg had been Pennywise’s lead vocalist and major songwriting contributor since their inception in 1988, recording and releasing nine studio albums with the band. The most recent was 2008’s free release on MySpace Records, Reason to Believe. Zoli Teglas (Ignite) is now their new singer.
A short, fast, loud approach to songwriting, politically pointed lyrics, and an abrasive delivery, Detournement’s debut release, “Screaming Response”, is a furious and scalding critique of a collapsing economic system, a battle-cry to define and organize the struggle, and a hardcore-punk record that sound as if the genre was being discovered for the first time.

Synopsis
Die-Cut Heart Shapped 10" Commemorating the 60th anniversary of the People's Republic of China, Detournement's second release, "Awaken with Millions from One Heart", is a collection of love-letters to the proletariat, anti-capitalist pillow-talk, and pop-punk songs for class warfare.
Produced by Bouncing Souls guitarist, Pete Steinkopf, "Awaken with Millions from One Heart" follows a similar approach to Detournement's debut, "Screaming Response", which was accused of making "good on the promise their pedigree commands" by Alternative Press, charged as being "classic hardcore prčenje punk!" by Jersey Beat, and convicted as "a violently political album" by Heathen Harvest.
Limited to 500pcs, spread across two configurations of colored vinyl (Blood Red [250pcs] and Red and Yellow Sunburst [1/250]).

Australian hardcore act Miles Away have released a new song from their forthcoming 7-inch, Memory Embraced. Earlier this year, the band visited New York City to record their new album to be titled Endless Roads. The record is the first new album from the band since 2007's Rewind, Repeat... released through 6131 Records.

Yay another sellout album from Against Me! I like it but I know a lot of
people don't. Definitely not going to pay $30 to see them open up for
bullshit like Alexisonfire though :D
I didn't fuck up the ! in the tag like in Attack Attack! Against Me! is the
only band that deserves it.
FNT: 8 Years of making you look cool to your friends.
'White Crosses' is as powerful and as bold a rock record as one can imagine.
The band ˇ roars like fighter jets screaming over a stadium on the anthemic
title-track (with its shout along line about smashing the 4,000 crosses on a
local church's lawn, ones that signify the number of babies aborted each day
in the U.S.). Joining that is the escapist fury of 'Spanish Moss,' and the
short stick of dynamite, 'Rapid Decompression.'
'New Wave' eschewed some of the roughness of the band's earlier efforts, but
'White Crosses' goes even further in filling out the band's wallop. With its
twinkling piano and a glorious whoa-oa chorus, 'Because Of The Shame' could
be an outtake from Bruce Springsteen's classic 'Born To Run.' 'Ache With Me'
is a slow-jam that would make Paul Westerberg blush, while 'High Pressure
Low' is Billy Idol meets fellow Gainesville native Tom Petty.
'This is my Florida record,' says Gabel. 'I spent a lot of time writing this
record while driving directionless on forgotten Florida state roads, highly
caffeinated, with albums like [Petty's] 'Full Moon Fever' blasting on my
stereo.'
