Paint Your Target, the debut full length of the guys from Saarland is like a fresh wind in the punk-rock world as it combines two types of genres which usually do not fit very well. It is elaborated songwriting, that distinguishes the mix of brass lines that animate to start to dance, furious shouts, powerfully arranged parts, and melodic hooks from other ska-punk releases. Paint Your Target fits for every situation, no matter if you want to have a cool beer in soothing surroundings or hard hitting tunes to let off steam. The melancholic moment, which is characteristic for the full length though the band has a highly positive attitude, ties up to the dependence of the one with the other. Frankly speaking, there’s no sorrow without laughing and there’s no laughing without sorrow. Paint Your Target combines those two elements and creates something ambivalent but nevertheless something that can be defined. It’s something that won’t stop just because it meets objections or concerns. It’s something that tears down those boundaries in an impressive and precise way. Paint Your Target is the fresh wind that will blow through your hi-fi system, waking up your dusty speaker, to shout it out loud into this world.
