This record embodies the best hardcore of the 90ies. Fast old school parts, moshy breakdowns and passionated melodies. This will be one of the most honest and real hardcore releases of 2001. Pre - Under Siege.

MAX REBO KIDS "ciphers" (let it burn recs.) CD 1,- €
Ciphers is probably the most eagerly awaited and anticipated release of 2002 here at Flex Your Headquarters. Germany's Max Rebo Kids are back with their debut full length and we're definitely stoked. Max Rebo Kids are certainly influenced by mid-90s "new school hardcore", a sound perfected by Northwest hardcore bands, Trial and Undertow. Let's not get the wrong impression though - Ciphers is anything but derivative or "retro". While the influence is apparent, Max Rebo Kids up the stakes and take things to their next logical progression - there's a hint of melody present, yet Ciphers remains uncompromisingly hard-hitting, quick-paced, and crunchy.

This album was not supposed to be an album. This was intended to be a soundtrack to a play about a monster-ghost-love-story. When Zach Shields and Ryan Gosling met in 2005 and discovered their mutual obsession with ghosts, they decided to write the afore-mentioned ghastly love story. Scrapping the stage show when costs became prohibitive, they already had songs written and decided to continue. The pair chose to play all the instruments on the record, even those they had never touched before. They also imposed rules on themselves during the recording process, like not playing with a click track, or trying to do no more than three takes on any song, letting any imperfections highlight the strengths of the music. Enlisting the help of the Silverlake Conservatory Children’s Choir to round out the tunes, the album was produced by Tim Anderson of I’m A Robot. The result is a striking collection of doo-wop songs about werewolves, haunting melodies telling tales of zombies with broken hearts, and children singing the joys and pains of being alive or being dead.
Cleveland's Homostupid's new record is tunnel ride through a reverb soaked youth hall that spreads confusion like manure in the spring soil. Instead of plastering "fuck the system" stickers on their guitar cases, plenty of shit tickets get issued to unlikely suspects resulting in some intellectual blockage. Its a confusing hot mess that will have you coming back to it time and time again. This is truly a rocker.
Picking up the hanky from developmentally challenged rock is a given, and after full length number two the band has taken to re-rendering some early efforts into the making of a waste cake of ungodly proportions. So, you dear listener are in for a buffet of great taste and unparelled ear fuckery. Don't worry - it’s SKULL MUSIC so you can rest your nappy dome assured.
88 Fingers Louie is set to unveil a live record at their recent 10 year reunion show. The group has compiled a 78 minute, 26 song CD set titled Lives, to be released independently. It should be available on October 10th at the band's Riot Fest show at the Congress Theatre, to be followed by mail order availability (no plans for digital as of yet). You can check out the cover art and preview some music at the band's MySpace page.
88 Fingers Louie's reunion lineup features guitarist Dan Precision, lead vocalist Denis Buckley, drummer John Carroll and bassist John Contreras.

Former Hot Water Music frontman, Chuck Ragan releases his sophomore solo album "Gold Country" performed with collaborators like violinist Jon Gaunt and Hot Water Music drummer George Rebelo. Recorded in Northern California, its some of the most mature music Ragan claims to have ever take part in, adding that he spent more time on the album than he has on any other recording in his career. Ragan plans to replicate the album in a live setting on the second annual Revival Tour, a traveling road show harkening back to the early folk era.

It Was This or Football is the debut album by British ska and indie band Kid British. The album was released via Mercury Records in two halves, like a football match - this idea was inspired by the title of the album[1] - the first half was released on 20 July 2009, and the second was scheduled to be released on 14 September and will come with a gatefold sleeve to slot in the first half, but it has been pushed back to a release date in January.
