FA CUP (-2) Swansea Horsham 1 (2.00 @Gamebookers) 3 units In my eyes, this is a very similar match to the Staines' FA Cup match against Peterborough, when they lost 0:5 at home (you remember that, we won some units there). I can simply write the same thing now bravo Horsham, you've been amazing, you even managed to push it to a replay against mighty Swansea, but I'm afraid your FA Cup journey is over now. Why, you ask? Well, it's not just the fact that Swansea are currently the leaders of League One (even though they played a match less than 2nd Leyton) and Horsham are 10th in the Ryman Premier (yeah, they did play eight matches less than, for example, 2nd Hendon, but they're still not serious title candidates not with Chelmsford and Wimbledon desperately wanting to promote to Conference South finally). Horsham aren't very good away from home in the Ryman Premier league (that's four levels below League One), they have two wins (they only managed to win at 15th Maidstone, in the first round, back in mid August, and at 13th East Thurrock two and a half months ago) and four defeats away from home and I admit I'll feel sorry for them when they get out on the pitch and see all those Swansea supporters (around ten thousand of them). They even lost away at Witham (league below) in the FA Trophy a month ago and had lots of good luck in the FA Cup they played five home matches and only two away matches (0:0 at Wimbledon and 3:2 at Chippenham). Horsham will miss their leading scorer Rook who is suspended (and thinking about moving to Tonbridge) and their no1 goalkeeper Mansfield could be absent too his wife is due to have their baby any minute now and Mansfield still doesn't know what to chose in the worst case a match or witnessing the birth of his first child. Go to the hospital and be a support to your wife, goddamnit! Mansfield missed the first match against Swansea too and Seuke did a great job between the sticks, but it was a match-of-the-season performance that can hardly happen twice in a row. Swansea have three league wins in a row, their last match was a 3:0 home win vs Northampton, the Sky cameras will again be there and I'm sure Swansea will want to make their fans happy. Their home form wasn't really brilliant up to one point, but now they have two succesive home wins, their manager is finally happy with the performances and only a big surprise could kill this bet. Btw, the weather forecast is great finally no rain. So then, what happened in the first match at Horsham? Well, it is the FA Cup and when a team from Ryman Premier gets to the 3rd round and plays at home, infront of cameras and under terrible conditions (rain, mud, waterlogged pitch...), anything can happen. Horsham were losing untill 85th minute and then equalised from a penalty spot. This is what Swansea's manager Martinez said after the first match: ''... Overall, the conditions were difficult - the cameras were here looking for an upset and that's the reality of the FA Cup. We accept the punishment and look forward to the replay...'' Well then I'm looking forward to it too. (The bet is void if Swansea win by two goals exactly. Btw, it's 2.04 at Canbet, 2.02 at 10Bet, 2.00 at Bet365, Fonbet, Partybets... 1.96 currently at Betfair...) FT 6:2 |
