SOUTHERN PREMIER Corby Team Bath 2 (2.10 @StanJames) 3 units The lousiest home team against one of the best away teams and title candidates. The odds on away win should be 1.80 max so this is a must-have bet. Corby's home statistics this season are terrible they have 0-0-3 with goal-difference 1:6 (all in all, they scored only six goals in nine league matches). At home, they've lost to 3rd King's Lynn (0:2), 9th Mangotsfield (1:2) and 2nd Hemel Hempstead (0:2). This season, they managed to win only at 18th Hitchin and at 11th Halesowen. This Saturday, the lost 0:3 at 13th Clevedon. Corby were supposed to get relegated in May but with the a little help of the clubs in the non-league world who got relegated because of financial problems they stayed in the Southern Premier league and even brought in a new manager and a bunch of new players. Some even saw them as promotion candidates but that plan obviously failed. The fans are again mad as hell, Corby is currently second to bottom and they'll probably look for their first home points of the season in the next round when they're playing against struggling Swindon. They're in the FA Cup 3rd qualifying round and it wouldn't be strange for players to concentrate more on the Cup in this moment (they'll be playing 3rd round match this upcoming Saturday), when they're terrible in the league. A couple of players left Corby too this is what one of their fans wrote on their forum a couple of days ago: ''... Diggins scored a cracking goal in Ramsgate but imo is getting worse and worse and lazier and lazier, he simply dont move till the ball comes to him,the same goes for lynchy,in fact to me he looks in jured. Far from keeping a settled team, Wilson needs to try changes in midfield and up front wedsday...whoever he brings in they sure cant do any worse. As for the players leaving, thats really worying.I reckon its because they all can see what we can see is that Wilsom refuses to drop his favs dont matter how bad they are playing and he simply wont fink abut using any of these other players.they aint stupid they no like we no who is playin bad and who should be rested/dropped. Maddox, Towers, Byrne all left it apeers after rows with wilson on this subject. FFS it took him sixseven games to drop the midfield playerScott, when he was dire and slow even in the esiest of friendly matches. how long b4 all the other squad players do the same? moral and changing room confidence will disapeer along with them...'' Team Bath are currently 5th but with only five points less and two matches less than 1st Brackley. They played only three away matches in the league so far won twice (at strugglers Swindon and Cheshunt) and shared points once (at 17th Banbury back in the first round, two months ago, when they were missing a couple of important players). This Saturday they were very good at home against solid Bedford outfit and won 2:0. Team Bath recently welcomed back a bunch of important players after their injuries and absences (no1 goalkeeper Chitty, very dangerous left winger Thomson, scorer Llewellyn who came from the subs' bench to score a definite winner this Saturday, skipper Warren, defender El-Abd and winger Perrott are all finally fit, Adams is back from Canada and Townley is back from Thailand) and when this injury-crisis finally stopped, they started playing some football again. In the FA Cup 2nd qualifying round, they won 8:1 against Moneyfields (two leagues below) but more important were their two league wins, before FA Cup at Cheshunt and after that at home against Bedford. Their best scorer Canham scored nine goals (seven in the league) already this season and offensive midfielder Townley scored five. This won't be an easy match and it could end with the draw, yes, that's why this is not a 7 or even a 5 units bet, but the bookies underestemated Team Bath in this case and I'll try to beat them with these modest 3 units. If I fail, at least I'll know I've put up a good fight. And another Saturday is getting near too... (Stanleybet again has the best odds for the straight away win 2.20 but they aren't available to all of you so the 'official' bet will be 2.10 at StanJames or at any of the bookies who offer exactly the same odds Sportingbet, Skybet, Paddy Power, Bet365) FT 1:2 |
