ITP is a progressive rock band comprised of Luis Carlos Maldonado(vocals/guitar), Ana Lenchantin (cellist) and Primus drummer Tim Alexander. Tim Alexander and his previous bands will be what initially draw interest to Into The Presence, but what will keep people drawn in is the vocal talent of Maldonado. It has been a while since I heard a rock band with Maldonado’s ability to scream as well as he sings. Usually you get one or the other. Songs like “The Garden” and “You and I” show off the band’s ability to rock a slow song without sounding too much like a 1980s power ballad. The album as a whole actually sounds more like something from the 1970s.
