Modest Mouse - No One's First And You're Next (2009) (Indie) (Rapidshare,Depositfiles)

Since first breaking into the mainstream in 2004 with their hit, "Float On", platinum-selling artist Modest Mouse has broken boundaries for indie music. Their impressive back catalog has become essential for hardcore fans to own, and they are often treated with b-sides and rare tracks from the band. No One's First and You're Next is a collection of newly recorded songs from the We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank and Good News for People Who Love Bad News sessions, as well as two rare b-sides. Three 7" limited edition, hand-numbered singles were released over the course of 3 months, all leading up to the release of this comprehensive collection of songs, including two additional tracks, King Rat and I've Got it All (Most). This is sure to be a must-have for their dedicated fanbase.

No One's First and You're Next is an upcoming EP by American indie rock band Modest Mouse, set for release in August 2009. It will feature unreleased tracks and B-sides from the band's previous two studio albums, Good News for People Who Love Bad News (2004) and We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank (2007). The collection of repolished outtakes was first mentioned in February 2008 when Rolling Stone conducted a short interview with frontman Isaac Brock in their "Smoking Section" column; however, no other news regarding its release surfaced until an entire year later.

Three sets of 7" vinyl singles are set to precede the EP's release. Featuring "Satellite Skin" and "Guilty Cocker Spaniels", the first single was planned to be released on April 18 in celebration of Record Store Day, but was pushed back to May 26 due to unknown reasons.

Before his death in January 2008, Heath Ledger directed a music video for "King Rat", animated by Terry Gilliam. Brock stated back in 2007 that Ledger "[has] a video production company and was interested in working on something. We were talking back and forth for a while. The idea seemed to have sort of dropped, but then he just sent me an email saying that he wanted to do it." Kevin Willis, who previously contributed artwork to drummer Jeremiah Green's side project Vells, directed the video for "Satellite Skin". Willis is also known for his frequent involvement as the co-producer in the music videos of alternative metal band Tool.
