At some point early in the album's development, trombone player Chris Sheets left the band for undisclosed reasons. The album was completed in spring of 2009.

The album artwork was created by visual artist Sonny Kay. The band posted the album artwork on their blog along with a video featuring an animated version of the artwork and a 30-second clip from a new song.

The album is set for release on July 28, 2009 through Sargent House. BIRDS OF AVALON has spent the better part of the past two years on the road with the likes of The Racontuers, The Flaming Lips, Black Mountain, Ted Leo, Mudhoney, Monotonix and more. Never comfortable being stagnant, the band wrote and recorded almost two-dozen new songs during a six-month break from touring, half of which make up their their sophomore LP, Uncanny Valley, that is out today.

Uncanny Valley is the second of two records that the band recorded in the last four months. In January, they wrapped up a recording session at Mitch Easter’s Fidelitorium Studio. Following the session, the band found itself back home wanting to write and record additional material instead of getting back on the road as they usually would. “The two records are like two variations on a theme,” says Cheetie Kumar, adding, “The first batch of songs resulted in a more elaborate, dense record, but this second batch seemed to sound like a summer record to us, which is when it’s gonna come out.”

After Easter, the famed producer (REM, Wilco, Pavement), generously offer to lend his 3M tape machine and some old used tape, the band borrowed the remaining equipment from friends around their hometown of Raleigh NC and proceeded to record a second album in their basement-rehearsal space which was transformed within days to a makeshift studio.

BIRDS OF AVALON drew inspiration for this record from a theory by a Japanese roboticist to describe the phenomena by which human beings become more unsettled by robots or other human facsimiles in direct proportion to how lifelike they appear. In keeping with themes of “The Uncanny,” the band’s first MP3 off of Uncanny Valley, “Your Downtime Is Up,” describes how a child’s innocent exploration of underground storm drain tunnels turns into something more sinister. “Across the board, encountering your doppelganger is never a good thing. It's usually an omen of death,” says David Mueller, adding, “The song presents a modern myth in which a child exploring storm tunnels encounters his double and is frozen to the spot. He then helplessly watches the doppelganger leave the tunnel to assume his identity in the world while he remains trapped below forever.”

In October 2006 they released a new album, Interkom Kom Ind, which received many positive reviews, and has fared well commercially both in Denmark and other countries in Europe. The singles, Igen & Igen &, Science Fiction & Familien and Mexico Ligger I Spanien rotated heavily on Danish radio.

On January 21, 2007 it was revealed that American producer Timbaland had received the tracks to three songs ("En Wannabe Darth Vader", "Igen og Igen &" and "Hospital") and was working on turning some of them into a track for his forthcoming Timbaland Presents Shock Value album - and so he did. A remix of the song "The Way I Are" was produced by Nephew. Only the vocals from the original song are the same, the Danish band having completely redone the song. Nephew frontman Simon Kvamm also delivers new vocals for the song, which will be included on the single release. The remix samples the melody from Igen og Igen but translated lyrics from the song and is incorporated throughout the remix of the song.

On November 5, 2007 Nephew released a live-box set (Live-CD/2DVD) entitled Roskilde//07.07.07 based upon a much-acclaimed live performance at Orange Scene at the 2007 Roskilde Festival. The Live CD features songs from the albums USADSB and Interkom Kom Ind, including a special version of 'Hospital' which features a guest performance by Danish rapper L.O.C.. The Special Edition of the box also features the band's remix of the Timbaland track The Way I Are.

In September 2008 a Nephew remix of the song "Allein Allein" by German band Polarkreis 18 appeared in Danish radio. Nephew released their 4. album, "Danmark/Denmark" in Denmark on 5 June 2009, the Danish Constitution Day.

“Catchy vocals and poppy mellow melodies shift between Coldplay and Radiohead?”

Charlie Straight uploaded their first demos on the net… After being picked as “the band of the week” by the Czech largest band database, the owner of the website became their producer. With him, they recorded an album through the summer and autumn of 2007.

Most of the mixing was done by Dušan Neuwerth who has collaborated with numerous international acts and spends his time working all over the world. The debut album entitled She’s a Good Swimmer is now ready with a fine booklet and a new website to be launched by the end of May 2009.

Strongly infuenced by the British music scene, the band was established by four school mates in August 2006. Since then, they have managed to play at most major festivals in the Czech Republic (e.g. Colours of Ostrava 2008, Planet Festival etc.) and to perform several times on TV (e.g. Noc s Andělem).

With a self-made music-video for a song entitled Shall We Have a Baby (on YouTube), they won a nation-wide music video competition called “Garážmistr.”

In autumn 2008, they supported one of the biggest acts on the Czech music scene - KRYŠTOF. This meant learning a lot and proving themselves in front of a new audience.

On the 5th of April, Platonic Johny Music Video Premiere took place in Prague’s Chapeau Rouge. There, the manager of Hard Rock Cafe in Prague, Mr. Mo Capatia, saw Charlie Straight and was impressed. He invited the band to play at the brand new venue.

On the 17th of June, the CD Release Party Gig takes place at the FABRIC in Ostrava.

With the success of their major label debut, New Wave, as well as endless acclaim from both critics and fans alike,
AGAINST ME have quickly ascended to the upper echelon of the punk scene. A pivotal step along the path that led to
their current enviable status was the 2003 release of As The Eternal Cowboy. A ground breaking album that effortlessly
blends the intimacy and passion of AGAINST MEs live show with their heartfelt and jarring music, As The Eternal Cowboy
served as a defibrillator for a then stagnate music scene. Recently, to the delight of their faithful following,
the band elected to release the predominantly never-before-heard demos from the album under the title The Original Cowboy.
AGAINST MEs singer/guitarist Tom Gabel had this to say about the release: Recorded and mixed in only a couple of hours,
The Original Cowboy was only meant to be a trial run, but, listening to it today, theres a part of me that feels foolish
for ever recording these songs a second time. Fortunately for their adoring fans, with the release of The Original Cowboy,
we get to enjoy this momentous album in its original incarnation and judge for ourselves.

Arguably the most accomplished singer/songwriter of his generation, Rob Thomas is one of modern music's most compelling and commercially successful artists. Between Matchbox Twenty, his solo work, and his various collaborations with iconic artists like Santana and Mick Jagger, his tally now stands at more than 80 million albums sold worldwide.

The latest magical collection of Thomas-crafted inspiration is his second solo album, Cradlesong. The new album follows his 2005 multiplatinum solo debut, ...Something To Be, which made history as the first album by a male artist from a rock or pop group to debut at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 since the chart was launched 50 years earlier. The album earned a pair of Grammy nominations and spawned a string of hit singles, including the smash 'Lonely No More' which was #1 in 15 countries. cradlesong, with Matt Serletic again in the producer's chair, was forged in a creatively charged atmosphere. The result is a percussive rock record that pulses with passion and energy and portrays a world he views with boundless optimism.

Despite the occasionally discouraging lyric, Thomas infuses that hopeful spirit into cradlesong. 'I'm not a mopey person; I don't get satisfaction in heartache and despair. With the exception of a few things that start dark and stay dark, there's usually a hopefulness at the end of each song,' he says. 'There has to be; it s the hopeful part that makes you want to share them with people. It's the hopeful part that says you found some secret in the pain and maybe some other people will, too.'

After having played in several underground bands
in Luxembourg,singer-songwriter Jerome Reuter
almost unintentionally founded ROME in December 2005
by recording a now legendary demo tape at a friends studio
in Germany. That demo is now known as ROMEs first
official release, the Berlin EP and the friend and engineer,
Patrick Damiani, has become the second creative force
in ROME. After having released three groundbreaking
albums at a breathtaking pace
(Nera 2006; Confessions dun Voleur dAmes 2007
and Masse Mensch Material - 2008),
ROME found a home in the German label Trisol and released
its latest opus Flowers From Exile in June 2009.
The music and lyrical world of ROME is genuinely
unique and constantly brilliant. Blending excellent
songwriting craftsmanship, unusual arrangements
and fine poetry into one monstruous and intimate
musical output that combines chanson, dark ambient,
apocalyptic folk, pop, acoustic rock, martial industrial,
cold wave all rolled into one impressive avantgarde
package. The lyrical beauty of Reuters compositions
and the complex arrangements of Damiani make ROME
an unusually challenging musical experience.
A must for music lovers.

18. Die Form - Kobol Vinyl Limited Edition (2009) (Electronic,Dance) (Rapidshare)

01 Kobol 04:39
02 Action Theremin 03:50

One of the most prolific and unique musical projects on the
electronic music scene returns with a long-awaited new
long-playing album that marks one of the strongest works DIE
FORM has ever created. Elaborately combining mesmerizing and
disturbing photo art, experimental soundscapes, classical
influences, heavenly voices and a rather healthy dose of
relentless club sounds, Philippe Fichot and Éliane P. weave a
sonic web on "Noir Magnétique" that is nothing short of
enthralling. It is seldom that music works in both a club
context and as a work of art. DIE FORM have achieved just
that... while "Noir Magnétique" is one of the group’s most
accessible and dancefloor compatible releases ever, easily
matching their most successful club hits, it still sports an
absolutely unique sound and artistic vision. The album expertly
continues the path DIE FORM took with last year's smashing
single "Her(t)z Frequenz" (which is also featured on the album
in a dazzling new mix) with strong beats, enticing melodies,
cold sounds and a constant tug-o-war between harsh emotional
coolness and pure, innocent beauty. "Noir Magnétique" is not
only driving DIE FORM’s unique sound to perfection – it is also
an instant classic that shows the French Art Electro project at
their very best. Electronic club sounds as an art form!

This absolutely lavish collector's set/deluxe box is strictly
limited to 999 copies, and contains the album plus the special
exclusive 7" single "Kobol" and a deluxe large-size booklet with
the album photo art in an elaborate 7"-sized box.
