Zaštita okoliša
Zaštita okoliša je skup odgovarajućih aktivnosti i mjera kojima je cilj sprječavanje onečišćenja i zagađenja okoliša, sprječavanje nastanka šteta, smanjivanje i/ili otklanjanje šteta nanesenih okolišu te povrat okoliša u stanje prije nastanka štete.
Republika Hrvatska je u 2012. godini proizvela 1.670.000 t komunalnog otpada, a prosječna količina komunalnog otpada po stanovniku iznosi 390 kg na godinu.
Zašto trebamo smanjiti količinu otpada?
Plastika
PET ambalaži potrebno je i nekoliko stotina godina da se u potpunosti razgradi.
Hrana
Svaka tona odbačene hrane uzrokuje nastanak čak 4,2 tone ugljičnog dioksida!
Opasni otpad
Može nanjeti štetu opasnu po život za ljude i životinje, ovu vrstu otpada treba zbrinjavati u posebne kontejnere.
Recikliranje je najbolji način za čuvanje energije i smanjenje potrošnje prirodnih resursa. Jeste li znali da je moguće reciklirati:
• 80 posto dijelova vozila
• 60 posto otpada koji završi u kantama
• jedan komad papira i do 7 puta
• PET plastiku u odjeću, igračke, školske potrepštine poput ravnala, tepihe, ograde...
• aluminijske limenke u male kućanske aparate, vrtni namještaj, posude za pečenje...
Staklo, aluminij i čelik mogu se beskonačno reciklirati
Švedska reciklira više od 99% svog otpada,. Otprilike 50% otpada se reciklira klasičnim putem, dok se ostalih 50% pali u ukupno 32 WTE (waste-to-energy tvornice) diljem zemlje.
Na ovaj se način proizvodi energija za grijanje više od milijun kućanstava i struja za njih 250 tisuća.
Hrvatska reciklira 16% otpada, a do 2030. morat će čak 70%
