Children Of Bodom- Bed Of Razors

I see the candle light burning in your
eyes, flareing up my eyes in flames
On this pitch-black summer night...
of passion and pain

The razor caressed my flesh
and my arms turned red, I feel a vast desire
Years of pain are flowing down my arms.
Sweet, red, warm stream you drink, make me released
Give me your hand, let me make you feel the ease,
in the bed of razors we bleed together...

I feel the fire burning in my heart,
I see it sparkling in your eyes
The blaze you're feeding more and more

The razor caressed your flesh and your arms turned red.
I feel your vast desire
Tearing pain is flowing down your arms.
Sweet, red, warm stream I drink to make you released
Holding your arms, cherish this composure,
in the bed of razors we sleep together, forever......

HIM-DARK LIGHT

Shivers run through the spine
Of hope as she cries
the poison tears of a life denied
In the raven black night
Holding hands with

Dark light
Come shine in her lost heart tonight
And blind
All fears that haunt her
With your smile
Dark Light

In oblivion's garden
Her body's on fire
Writhing towards the angel defiled
To learn how to die
In peace with her God

Dark light
Come shine in her lost heart tonight
And blind
All fears that haunt her with
Your smile
Dark Light...

ENSIFERUM- GOBLIN'S DANCE

Once in the time of chaos,
of sunless days and of unhappiness.
The statue of the triumphant master
stood proud and grim.
In the light of three descending moons,
in twisted and cracked open.
Unleashing the Goblin King
once again, for the last time.

CHORUS 1:
"Now the Victory is ours !"
"Let us dance the dance of Immortals"

CHORUS 2:
They shrieked, as they marched
up and down the hills,
in the sighing face of earth

Misfortune and Chaos,
Grief and Destruction.
The works of Dreaming evil,
and the joy of unholiness.
No soul was left alone,
in the mayhem of the human race,
"Hahahahaa!!!. Let us joy. Let us dance!!!"
So they danced their macabre dances

REPEAT CHORUS 1

From the three ascending moons,
moonshine was spilling onto the ground,
Gruesome trophies were all around
In the halls of the Goblin King

REPEAT CHORUS 1,2

SATYRICON- POSSESSEDburninmadnaughty

Mourning the decay
Bitter ungodly enemy
Cast into heavy woe
Left in the corner of the world (we are possessed)

Out of the maze, with clearsight - at the brink of one's abyss
Out of the maze, with clearsight - cold eyes at the world
Out of the maze, with clearsight - disbelief and scorn
Out of the maze, with clearsight - not poisoned by your fraud (we are possessed)

The realisation of the position
No longer vulnerable
Having played the music no one could understand
Serenade to the devil's den - He, the final frontier!

Defaming judgement
Upon the starving souls
Mourning self-made pestilence
Cannon fodder for the
Apocalypse

A haunt for every unclean spirit
Lord of the flies or kingdom of death
Circle the prey, show them your eyes,
They bear witness of centuries of might

Predecessor who blessed us with grace
In sempiternal fight
Excessive aggression -
Fire is the definite sign of rebirth!

The elders' electrons channelled through you
Carried by thy night Supremacy
Born to win this battle, defeat is the tongue
Of the whore.....

HAMMERFALL-NATURAL HIGHlud
Last night I had a vivid dream.
I found a place where nothing’s what it seems.
I’m bound to walk this earth alone.
I am a hunter and the heir to the throne.

The chase of blood and sweet revenge.
It keeps on hammering in my head.
The urge to kill is getting stronger.
I’m south of heaven, north of hell.
My final place to rest.

Surrender your soul.
Surrender your pride.
Please enter my dream.
Find your natural high.
You’ve got nothing to fear.
Cause your rebirth is near.

The battle rages deep inside.
No where to run for my eternal bride.
And when the darkness comes around.
I come alive cause, glorious we, by blood I am bound.

I taste your blood so bitter sweet.
Come ease my pain get on your knees.
You know throughout is meant to be.
Forever missed out what it seems.
This is your final scream.

Surrender your soul.
Surrender your pride.
Please enter my dream.
Find your natural high.
You’ve got nothing to fear.
Cause your rebirth is near.

So you are born again.
To a higher plane.
In my dark lair you’re part of the game.
Forever we are, forever we’ll be.
We’re forever free.

[Solo: Stephan]

[Solo: Oscar]

Surrender your soul.
Surrender your pride.
Please enter my dream.
Find your natural high.
You’ve got nothing to fear.
Cause your rebirth is near..

A pentagram (sometimes known as a pentalpha or pentangle or, more formally, as a star pentagon) is the shape of a five-pointed star drawn with five straight strokes. The word pentagram comes from the Greek word Ŕµ˝Ä¬łÁ±ĽĽż˝ (pentagrammon), a noun form of Ŕµ˝Ä¬łÁ±ĽĽżÂ (pentagrammos) or Ŕµ˝ÄłÁ±ĽĽżÂ (pentegrammos), a word meaning roughly "five-lined" or "five lines".

Pentagrams were used symbolically in ancient Greece and Babylonia. The pentagram has magical associations, and many people who practice neopagan faiths wear jewelry incorporating the symbol. Christians once more commonly used the pentagram to represent the five wounds of Jesus, and it also has associations within Freemasonry.

The pentagram has long been associated with the planet Venus, and the worship of the goddess Venus, or her equivalent. It is also associated with the Roman Lucifer, who was Venus as the Morning Star, the bringer of light and knowledge. It is most likely to have originated from the observations of prehistoric astronomers. When viewed from Earth, successive inferior conjunctions of Venus plot a nearly perfect pentagram shape around the zodiac every eight years.

The word "pentacle" is sometimes used synonymously with "pentagram", although their technical usages are different, and their etymologies may be unrelated.
Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa and others perpetuated the popularity of the pentagram as a magic symbol, keeping the Pythagorean attributions of elements to the five points. By the mid-19th century a further distinction had developed amongst occultists regarding the pentagram's orientation. With a single point upwards it depicted spirit presiding over the four elements of matter, and was essentially "good". However the other way up was considered evil.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

"A reversed pentagram, with two points projecting upwards, is a symbol of evil and attracts sinister forces because it overturns the proper order of things and demonstrates the triumph of matter over spirit. It is the goat of lust attacking the heavens with its horns, a sign execrated by initiates."[8]
"Let us keep the figure of the Five-pointed Star always upright, with the topmost triangle pointing to heaven, for it is the seat of wisdom, and if the figure is reversed, perversion and evil will be the result."

The pentagram was used as a Christian symbol for the five senses,[10] and if the letters S, A, L, V, and S are inscribed in the points, it can be taken as a symbol of health (from Latin salus).[citation needed]

Medieval Christians believed it to symbolise the five wounds of Christ. The pentagram was believed to protect against witches and demons.[11]

The pentagram figured in a heavily symbolic Arthurian romance[11]: it appears on the shield of Sir Gawain in the 14th century poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. As the poet explains, the five points of the star each have five meanings: they represent the five senses, the five fingers, the five wounds of Christ,[12] the five joys that Mary had of Jesus (the Annunciation, the Nativity, the Resurrection, the Ascension, and the Assumption), and the five virtues of knighthood which Gawain hopes to embody: noble generosity, fellowship, purity, courtesy, and compassion.

Probably due to misinterpretation of symbols used by ceremonial magicians, it later became associated with Satanism and subsequently rejected by most of Christianity sometime in the twentieth century.[11]

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has traditionally used pentagrams and five-pointed stars in Temple architecture, particularly the Nauvoo Illinois Temple[13] and the Salt Lake Temple. These symbols derived from traditional morning star pentagrams that are no longer commonly used in mainstream Christianity.

Satanists use a pentagram with two points up, often inscribed in a double circle, with the head of a goat inside the pentagram. This is referred to as the Sigil of Baphomet. They use it much the same way as the Pythagoreans, as Tartaros means Hell in Christian terminology (the word is used as such in the Bible, referring to the place where the fallen angels are fettered). The Pythagorean Greek letters are most often replaced by the Hebrew letters ÜŐŮęß forming the name Leviathan. Less esoteric LaVeyan Satanists use it as a sign of rebellion or religious identification, the three downward points symbolising rejection of the holy Trinity.

Death was an influential American death metal band founded in 1983 by guitarist and vocalist Chuck Schuldiner, and dissolved in 1999. They are widely credited as the creators of the death metal genre. The band's debut Scream Bloody Gore is considered a template of the genre. Schuldiner was the only member to remain in the band from start to end.
Founded in 1983 by Chuck Schuldiner under the original name of Mantas in Orlando, Death were among the more widely known, early pioneers of the death metal sound along with fellow Florida band Morbid Angel. In the late 80s, the band was both a part of and integral in defining the death metal scene which gained international recognition with the release of albums by a number of area acts.

Together with Kam Lee (Barney Lee), and Rick Rozz (Frederick DeLillo), Schuldiner started to compose songs that were released on several rehearsal tapes in 1984. These tapes, along with the Death by Metal demo, circulated through the tape trader world, quickly establishing the band's name. In 1984, Schuldiner dissolved Mantas and quickly started a new band under the name Death. Its members included the same Rick Rozz and Kam Lee. Another demo was released, called Reign of Terror.

In 1985, after the Infernal Death tape was recorded and released, Schuldiner fired Lee and Rozz in favour of Repulsion's bassist and guitarist, Scott Carlson and Matt Olivio, respectively. However, a drummer could not be found; consequently the band dissolved again. Schuldiner moved to San Francisco and recruited DRI drummer Eric Brecht, but he was not happy with this incarnation of Death and moved back to Florida without a band. There, in 1986, Schuldiner got an invitation from early Canadian thrash band Slaughter to play on their album, which he accepted, moving to Canada. This only lasted two weeks, however, as he found the situation not to his liking. He returned to Florida, then moved quickly to San Francisco again, where he joined with Chris Reifert. They recorded the Mutilation demo, which led to a deal with Combat Records, owned by Important Distribution (later becoming Relativity), that enabled them to record the first LP.

Scream Bloody Gore was released in 1987. Schuldiner briefly had a second guitar player, John Hand, but Hand did not appear on the album (though his photo did). By this time Schuldiner moved back to Florida, leaving Chris Reifert behind. There, Schuldiner teamed up with former bandmate Rick Rozz and two members of Rozz's band Massacre, Terry Butler and Bill Andrews.

The second Control Denied release has yet to be completed and is mired in a variety of odd legal problems involving its label, the musicians (who have publicly stated their desire to complete the album) and Schuldiner's mother. In 2004, Hammerheart Records released a CD made up of old, pre-Scream Bloody Gore demos, along with partial demos of the unfinished album. This was issued under the name Chuck Schuldiner, not Death, but their markedly unfinished state and lack of vocals led few to pay attention, aided by Schuldiner's mother's pleas for fans to stay away from it.

Members of Death have dispersed all throughout the landscape of metal and popular music. Some, like Gene Hoglan from Dark Angel and Andy LaRocque from King Diamond, already had made a name for themselves. Others went on to do so, like Sean Reinert, who formed the legendary Cynic with fellow Death member Paul Masvidal. Ironically, both of these pioneering death metal musicians have ended up in a progressive, ethereal rock band named Ćon Spoke laced with delicate guitars and Masvidal's soft croon. Richard Christy went on to gigs with Acheron and Iced Earth before joining The Howard Stern Show. Ralph Santolla has also played with Iced Earth, as well as Sebastian Bach, both of which were also stations for Steve DiGiorgio (he's still playing with Bach). While Santolla is now in Obituary and before this he was in Deicide. DiGiorgio also played for Testament and is still active with his original band Sadus. Bobby Koelble founded the Orlando rock-funk-Latin fusion group JunkieRush in 2000. James Murphy was also in Testament for awhile, formed numerous projects such as Disincarnate (as well as stints with death metal bands Obituary and Cancer) and has made a name for himself. Murphy also has been stricken with cancer and, along with Deron Miller of CKY, is organizing a Death tribute album to be released upon completion. Recently, Kam Lee formed the band Denial Fiend with Terry Butler.

brutalna pjesma...

Scream Bloody Gore

Decapitated head licking your cunt
Sucking all the blood from your stump
Intestinal guts taking their hold
Leaving you dead, stiff and cold

Controlling the minds of the bloodthristy dead
Unholy seizure slicing through your head
Who will survive only time will tell
Dripping from your mouth comes a rancid smell
Lobotomised corpse shredding your flesh
Leaving your body a bloody mess

Scream bloody gore
Scream bloody gore

Inject the reborn terror, the blood comes spurting out
Another to control, add it to your count
Orders to destroy, rip and tear apart
Wishing for the end, your dead is just the start

Controlling the minds of the bloodthristy dead
Unholy seizure slicing through your head
Who will survive only time will tell
Dripping from your mouth comes a rancid smell
Lobotomised corpse shredding your flesh
Leaving your body a bloody mess

Scream bloody gore
Scream bloody gore

Armies of the dead
Hail their leader's head
Hungry for the flesh
While it's warm and fresh

Through the smoke who will see
Who will come out alive?
Now it's your turn to feel the pain
Now it's your turn to die

Marduk is a Swedish black metal band, who are based in Norrköping.

Marduk's predominant lyrical topics are Satanism, anti-Christianity, Biblical tales, Nazism and World War II. The latter two are a later addition to their lyrical / conceptual themes, stemming from their 1999 release Panzer Division Marduk; quickly growing among their fans' favorites. Marduk have released more and more songs relating to those chapters of human history such as "The Hangman of Prague" (moniker of Prague "Reichsprotektor" Reinhard Heydrich), "Night of the Long Knives", "Deathmarch" and others. It has to be noted, however, that by singing about Nazi Germany, Marduk do not subscribe to the tenets of 'national socialist black metal' scene (see NSBM), their approach not being justificatory or praising.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Marduk was founded in Norrköping, Sweden in 1990 by Morgan Steinmeyer Hĺkansson. His ultimate goal was to create the most blasphemous and Satanic band ever conceptualized. In 1991, Marduk released a three song demo entitled Fuck me Jesus, which due to its dark and irreverent lyrics was highly received by a cult following. In 1992, Marduk released their first full-length album Dark Endless on the No Fashion label and continued to tour Sweden, augmenting their steadily growing fan base. Marduk switched over to the French label Osmose in 1993 after a dispute with No Fashion. Marduk began to tour throughout the rest of Europe in 1994 and in 1995 had their first gig across the Atlantic in Mexico City. They continued to amass fans and release albums over the next few years, even spearheading the European "Black Metal Assault Tour" in 1998. In 2000, Marduk founded their own record label, Blooddawn Productions. Marduk continues to tour Europe, release albums, and is regularly featured in many prominent metal music festivals. In 2003 longtime vocalist Erik "Legion" Hagstedt left, replacing him was Arioch from Funeral Mist, however he changed his name to Mortuus for his work with Marduk. In 2004 they released their ninth studio album Plague Angel which was a great hit all over Europe and later on in the United States. To celebrate Marduk's 15-year anniversary, a live album called Warschau was released with seventeen live tracks from a show in Warsaw, Poland on September 17, 2005.

In 2007 Marduk severed ties with long-time booking agent Metallysee after a number of incidents and is now represented by Polish booking agency Massive Music. Massive Music most notably manages veteran Polish death metal act Vader and books European tours for Brazilian trio Krisiun, Yonkers NY death metallers Immolation and Swedish death metal act Grave.

Still Fucking Dead

The world you see around you
Is just an illusion
Created by your mind
To keep you from going insane

Still Dead, Still Fucking Dead

You ware born with the love of god
And you will die with Satan's hate

Meet the chaos on the other side
The past is haunting you
Death is just the beginning

Here's no peace....

Morbid Angel is a Florida-based death metal band assembled in 1983. They, along with Death, Possessed, Obituary and a handful of others were crucial in the development of the death metal genre and its standards. UK music magazine Terrorizer ranked 2 Morbid Angel albums in its 'Top 40 Greatest Death Metal Albums', with Altars of Madness appearing at #1. Their songs are complex in arrangement, owing to the considerable technical skills of guitarist Trey Azagthoth and drummer Pete Sandoval who also played in the grindcore/death metal band Terrorizer.

Morbid Angel was one of the original death metal bands signed to Earache Records, and was also influential in the transition of death metal from its thrash metal roots to its current form by adding guttural vocals, up-tempo blast beats, inspired by grindcore, incorporating atonality in guitar soloing, and groove-oriented rhythms.[citation needed] It was also the first death metal band to have a touch of mainstream success, such as being signed to Giant Records in 1992 and having the music video for the song "God of Emptiness" shown on an episode of Beavis and Butthead.

The original lyrical themes focused mostly on Satanism and anti-Christian subject matter, but from second album Blessed Are the Sick onward, the lyrics slowly moved toward the ancient Sumerian gods, though much of this is a nod to the Simon Necronomicon, which was influenced by Sumerian mythology as well as the author H. P. Lovecraft[1], as well as a fascination with the Roman Empire, though anti-religious elements continue to permeate the lyrics.

Morbid Angel albums have been released with titles ascending in alphabetical order. The band is currently writing and recording a new studio album due for release sometime in 2007, and will likely keep the trend with a title beginning with the letter "I".

Članovi:
* Trey Azagthoth - lead guitar, guitar synthesizer, keyboards, vocals
* Pete Sandoval - drums
* David Vincent - vocals, bass guitar

evo nešto o Kornu...

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Korn (or Ko/n) is a nu metal band from Bakersfield, California, and are credited with creating and popularizing the nu metal genre.
Along with other bands at the time, they have
also inspired many nu metal and alternative
metal bands throughout the mid 1990s and early 2000s.

Since their 1994 self-titled debut album, Korn
has sold over 30 million records worldwide,
including 16.5 million in the United States,
making them one of the best-selling nu metal acts
of the last fifteen years.[citation needed] The band's
catalogue consists of nine consecutive debuts in the top
10 of the Billboard 200, including a compilation album,
Greatest Hits Vol.1, and an acoustic/live album,
MTV Unplugged: Korn. To date, Korn has scored 6
Grammy nominations, winning 2 such awards.

The band released their eighth studio album on July 31,
2007 through EMI/Virgin. The album debuted at #2
on Billboard, selling 123,000 copies in its first week.

Life Is Peachy (1996-1997)

Korn teamed up with Robinson once again for
their second album, Life Is Peachy, released
on October 15, 1996. It features a much grittier,
stripped-down sound than its predecessor,
possibly due to time constraints. There were plenty
of diverse songs on this record: "Porno Creep"
features a wah-drenched pseudo-funk sound, similar
to many 1970s porn movies. They also covered War's
"Low Rider", with Davis' bagpipes and Head on vocals.
"Twist", a concert staple to this day, was only 49
seconds long, featuring Davis' scat vocals.

TAG this image

To help promote their new album, Korn opened
for Metallica, along with utilizing one of the newest
resources available—the Internet. Such strategies
worked: Life Is Peachy sold more than 106,000 copies
in its first week and reached #3 on the Billboard 200.
The first single, "No Place to Hide", spawned a
Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance
."A.D.I.D.A.S." was the second single and only music
video, seemingly in reference to the popular clothing
line. In actuality, the song title was an acronym for
"All Day I Dream About Sex", as apparent in the lyrics.

Another key factor in raising the band's popularity
was co-headlining the Lollapalooza music festival
in 1997 with Tool. However, Korn were forced to
drop off the bill after Munky was diagnosed with
viral meningitis.[5] Also that year, Korn augmented
their growing crossover appeal by collaborating
with Los Angeles-based production and remix duo
the Dust Brothers on the track "Kick the P.A.".
This track appeared on the motion picture soundtrack
of the film Spawn.

In late 1997, Korn formed their own record label,
Elementree Records. The first band they signed
was Orgy (featuring former members of Davis'
band Sexart), who gave Elementree its first
Platinum-certified album with Candyass.
Over the next few years, they signed acts
like Videodrone, rapper Marz, and Deadsy.

Follow the Leader, mainstream success (1998-1999)

Prior to the release of the band's third album,
Korn produced a weekly online TV show,
KornTV, which documented the making of the
record and featured special guests such as
porn star Ron Jeremy, Limp Bizkit, and 311.
The project also gave fans the chance to call
in and ask the band questions—an approach
that represented one of the first times a band
utilized the Internet in such a way. Korn released
their third album, Follow the Leader, on August
18, 1998, which featured a number of guest vocalists
such as Ice Cube, Tre Hardson from the Pharcyde,
Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit and actor Cheech Marin
on the hidden track "Earache My Eye"
(written by Marin himself).

Korn launched a political campaign-style tour
to promote the release of Follow the Leader.
The tour took the group, on a chartered jet, all
over North America to spread the news of
Follow the Leader. They talked to fans and
answered questions during special "fan conferences",
which were organized at every stop along the
tour route, and signed autographs. Jim Rose
hosted the entire "Kampaign" tour.

The album was a success, debuting at #1 on
Billboard with 268,000 copies sold,[8] and
spawning the singles "Got the Life" and
"Freak on a Leash". They both exposed Korn
to a wider, mainstream audience, with the music
videos being mainstays on MTV's
Total Request Live. "Got the Life" was the
show's very first "retired" video, with
"Freak on a Leash" reaching that same
success months later.These songs also
fared well on Billboard, with "Freak on a
Leash" peaking in the top 10 of both
Mainstream Rock and Modern Rock,
the latter of which it spent 27 weeks
on—more than any other Korn single to date.

Greg Capullo, long-time Spawn penciler,
drew the cover art for Follow the Leader.
The animated bullet segments in the
video for "Freak on a Leash" were directed
by Todd McFarlane (creator of the Spawn
comic book and a former artist for Spider-Man comics).
The live action in the video, directed by
Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, used
innovative techniques which allowed the
camera to follow a bullet in flight through
various scenes.

"Freak on a Leash" won a Grammy for Best Music Video,
Short Form, and received a nomination for Best Hard Rock
Performance. The video also earned nine MTV Video Music
Awards nominations for Video of the Year, Best Rock Video,
Breakthrough Video, Best Direction, Best Special Effects,
Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing,
and Viewer's Choice. It eventually won two, for Best Rock Video
and Best Editing. Follow the Leader is the band's most commercially-successful album, being certified 5x Platinum
by the RIAA and having sold almost ten million copies worldwide.

The same year Follow the Leader was released,
Korn started their own annual tour called the Family Values Tour.
Korn headlined the highly-successful tour along with Incubus,
Orgy, Limp Bizkit, Ice Cube, and Rammstein. A live CD
and DVD were released and earned Gold and Platinum
certifications, respectively. In 1999, Limp Bizkit headlined,
along with Primus, Staind, The Crystal Method,
Method Man & Redman, and Filter. Korn were
not featured on the bill and instead only made surprise
appearances at a few of the stops to perform their
first single off of their next album. The tour took a
break in 2000.

Issues (1999-2001)

The band's fourth album, Issues, produced by Brendan O'Brien
, was released on November 16, 1999, featuring cover art
designed by Alfredo Carlos, who won a contest held for the
fans by MTV. Issues was released during a week of many
highly-anticipated records. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard
200 with more than 573,000 copies sold,keeping Dr. Dre's
long-awaited album 2001 and Celine Dion's greatest hits
album from hitting #1.

To celebrate the album's release, the band performed the
record in its entirety in front of a live audience at New York's
historic Apollo Theater and broadcast the concert
simultaneously across many radio stations. This performance
made Korn the first rock band, and only the second
predominantly white musical group, to ever perform at The Apollo,
after the legendary Buddy Holly in the late 1950s.
This special event featured the NYPD marching drum
and bagpipe band conducted by Richard Gibbs as well
as a group of back-up singers to enhance the more
melodic choruses Davis used on the album.

Earlier that year, Korn had appeared on an
episode of South Park, titled Korn's Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery,
in which the first single from Issues,
"Falling Away from Me", was premiered.
Korn released two more singles off of Issues,
"Make Me Bad" and "Somebody Someone",
both of which fared well on Billboard. Videos
were shot for all three singles, with longtime friend Fred Durst
directing "Falling Away from Me", and Martin Weisz
directing a concept video for "Make Me Bad",
as well as a performance video for "Somebody Someone",
which featured CGI effects. Every video was a staple
on Total Request Live, two of which made it to retirement.
Issues is considered by some critics to be less
hip hop-influenced and closer to alternative metal than nu metal.
It was certified 3x Platinum,
following up the success of Follow the Leader.

In 2000, Jonathan Davis commissioned Swiss surreal artist
H. R. Giger to create a special microphone stand.
The idea was suggested to him by one of his friends
who knew that Davis was a fan of his artwork.
He started doing some sketches of plantlike snakes
and vertebrae mixed with technical elements.
Davis called him from his dressing room and
told him that he had complete freedom to design
the microphone stand as he wanted and his only
concern was that it had be totally functional and as
movable as possible, as well as bio-mechanical and erotic.
The band visited his museum and met him in July of 2000
while they were touring in Europe.
The bio-mechanical microphone stand was finished in 2001.
It was introduced to fans one year later during
Korn's Untouchables tour.

Untouchables (2002-2003)

On June 11, 2002, after a year and a half of hard
work and a long creative process,
Korn re-emerged into the media spotlight with their fifth
album, Untouchables. It debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200
with 434,000 in sales. Sales were disappointing in comparison
to the first four albums, as Untouchables only reached Platinum status.
The band has blamed Internet piracy for the drop in sales, as an unmastered version of the album had leaked three months prior
to its official release date.

The release of this album was preceded by a show at
the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, a day prior to
the album's release, broadcast digitally throughout U.S.
movie theatres. Untouchables featured electronic beats,
strings and various effects the band had never used in an
album before. The overall feel was drastically different from previous efforts, particularly tracks like "Alone I Break", "Hating", and "
Hollow Life", which singer Jonathan Davis claims is one of
his favorite Korn songs to this day.

The first two videos from Untouchables were directed
by the Hughes Brothers (best known for their films, Menace
II Society and From Hell). The first video, "Here to Stay",
has the band playing inside a TV with a static background
along with controversial news stories and world issues being
presented. The song itself earned Korn a Grammy for Best Metal Performance, and would become their highest-peaking single
on Billboard's Modern Rock chart. The second video,
"Thoughtless", was a nod back to Davis' childhood as the
character in the video is picked on and constantly beaten.
The character ultimately gains revenge in a rather grotesque
but deserving way. Although "Thoughtless" would be one
of the more popular tracks on the album, it did not appear
on Greatest Hits Vol.1. The third video for Untouchables,
"Alone I Break," was directed by Sean Dack, who won the
honor of directing the video through an MTV contest.
The video kept with the darkness of Korn, showing Davis
killing off the members of the band after a supposed mistake
made by Munky while they were performing.
The band admitted it would have been more fun to
do the video had the director been an actual Korn fan.

Prior to their next album, Korn released the single
"Did My Time" on July 22, 2003, which was used to
promote the film Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life.
Angelina Jolie appeared in the Dave Meyers-directed video.
Due to scheduling conflicts, however, the band and Jolie
recorded their parts separately. "Did My Time"
also gave Korn yet another Grammy nomination in
the Best Metal Performance category.

Take a Look in the Mirror, Greatest Hits, Head's departure (2003-2005)

Korn's sixth album, Take a Look in the Mirror,
was released on November 21, 2003,four days
earlier than originally planned.
Korn produced the album themselves, and released
"Right Now", "Y'All Want a Single", and "Everything I've Known"
as singles. "Right Now" and "Everything I've Known"
were animated videos, whereas "Y'All Want a Single"
featured Korn and a large group of fans destroying a record store.
The album peaked at #9 on Billboard, selling over 179,000
copies in its first full week.

Korn released their greatest hits album, Greatest Hits Vol.1,
on October 5, 2004. The album debuted at #4 on Billboard,
selling more than 129,000 copies. It featured two cover songs
as singles, and a compilation of the band's hits from the past
10 years. The first single was a cover of the song "Word Up!",
which was originally made popular by the group Cameo.
The second single was a medley of all three parts of Pink Floyd's
"Another Brick in the Wall", and a remix of their hit single
"Freak on a Leash" was included as a bonus track.
Special editions of the album included a DVD
titled Korn: Live at CBGB featuring seven select
songs from their November 24, 2003 show at CBGB.

Prior to Korn starting work on their next album,
Brian "Head" Welch announced that he had "...
chosen the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior, and will be
dedicating his musical pursuits to that end",
and was formally leaving Korn. Initial speculations
that this was a hoax or practical joke were proven wrong;
he has turned highly spiritual, even being baptized in
the Jordan River and speaking openly about his faith
and conversion, especially on his website Head to Christ.
This was the band's first line-up change in their history.

Several weeks following his departure, Welch had
mentioned a solo album was in the works, although there
was no release date given, nor had he signed on with a record label.
He has since signed with Fortitude Music. However,
his album has failed to meet two release dates, including
as recently as July 7, 2007. It was revealed in a July 6
interview that the album is still in the mixing process.

See You on the Other Side, EMI/Virgin (2005-2006)

Upon completing their record deal with Sony, Korn partnered
with EMI and signed to Virgin Records. As part of this innovative arrangement, EMI paid Korn $25 million upfront in exchange
for a share in the profits of their next two studio albums,
including tours and merchandising. EMI also received a
30 percent stake in the band's licensing, ticket sales and
other revenue sources.

The band's first album for Virgin, See You on the Other Side,
was released on December 6, 2005, and debuted on #3
on the Billboard 200, scanning close to 221,000 copies.
The album managed to stay in the top 100 of the Billboard
200 for 34 consecutive weeks. The first single off of the album
"Twisted Transistor", was accompanied by a comedic video
directed by Dave Meyers in which rap stars Xzibit, Lil' Jon, Snoop Dogg, and David Banner portray Korn.
The single itself peaked at #3 on Billboard's Mainstream
Rock chart and #9 on Modern Rock. The second single,
"Coming Undone", peaked at #4 on Mainstream Rock and
#14 on Modern Rock, and a video directed by Little X also
received considerable airplay. See You on the Other Side
is certified Platinum, and has sold over two million copies worldwide.

Korn held a press conference at the Hollywood Forever
Cemetery on January 13, 2006, announcing the
See You on the Other Side tour. 10 Years and
Mudvayne were selected to open all dates of the trek,
which kicked off in their hometown of Bakersfield,
on what Mayor Harvey Hall officially declared as
"Korn Day", February 26, 2006.
The resurrection of their Family Values Tour was
announced on April 18, 2006, which featured
co-headliners Deftones, Stone Sour, Flyleaf,
and Dir en grey on the main stage. Korn and
Evanescence co-headlined the 2007 edition,
with Atreyu, 2006 alumni Flyleaf, Hellyeah, and
Trivium rounding out the main stage.

While promoting See You on the Other Side in Europe,
Jonathan Davis was diagnosed with idiopathic
thrombocytopenic purpura, a blood platelet disorder
that hospitalized him for the weekend and prevented
him from performing at the renowned Download Festival.
The band still performed, with guest singers including
Corey Taylor of Slipknot/Stone Sour fame, Skindred's
Benji Webbe, and Avenged Sevenfold's M. Shadows.
This led to Korn canceling the rest of their European
bill for 2006,including the Hellfest Summer Open Air.
It was originally unknown to the public what his ailment was,
but the singer revealed in a letter to fans that he was
"dangerously low on blood platelets and at a high risk
of death from a hemorrhage if the problem was not treated".
His illness did not affect the 2006 Family Values Tour.

MTV Unplugged, Untitled album (2007-)

Korn performed at the MTV studios in
Times Square on December 9, 2006, for the MTV
Unplugged series, which was broadcast on
February 23, 2007, through MTV.com and on March 2,
2007, across North American, South American, European
and Asian MTV stations. In front of a crowd of approximately
50 people, Korn played a 14-song acoustic set complete with
guest appearances by The Cure and Amy Lee of Evanescence.
The performance was eventually cut down to 11 songs
for the album, two of which did not air on MTV.
Sales of nearly 51,000 brought MTV Unplugged:
Korn to #9 in its first week out.
The disc has yet to receive a Gold or Platinum certification.

Korn's untitled eighth album was released on July 31, 2007,
debuting at #2 with 123,000 copies in its first week.
The album concludes Korn's unique deal with Virgin Records,
and features touring keyboardist Zac Baird,
giving the tracks a deeper, atmospheric sound.
Drumming duties were left up to Terry Bozzio,
Jonathan Davis, and Bad Religion's Brooks Wackerman,
as David Silveria went on a hiatus for the untitled album
and its touring cycle. The first single, "Evolution",
premiered on Los Angeles-based radio station KROQ,
with help from Munky and Fieldy. It eventually charted
on Billboard's Mainstream Rock and Modern Rock charts
at #4 and #20, respectively, and a Dave Meyers-directed
video was also released. "Hold On", the album's
second single, is slated for release on October 8,
according to FMQB's Modern Rock Available for Airplay
page. "Hold On" has already been played on various radio
stations, charting at #39 on the Billboard Mainstream
Rock chart a week before its official release date.

Burzum began in 1991 as a prominent and influential Norwegian black metal act by Varg Vikernes (born Kristian Vikernes). Originally, he used the pseudonym Count Grishnackh. Burzum has played a key role in the musical development of black metal, while Vikernes has also archived a level of infamy for himself and the genre at large. Vikernes was convicted of the murder of Mayhem guitarist Řystein Aarseth (who is also known by the stage name "Euronymous") and additionally for the arson of several churches.

Burzum's early music shows a moderate Tolkien influence; for example, the name Count Grishnackh is taken from an orc character called Grishnákh in Tolkien's works. The choice of the name for the project reflects both this influence and the desire for anonymity: "Burzum" is a word of the Black Speech of Mordor meaning "darkness" (though Vikernes believes that Pagans consider it to mean "light" as opposed to how Christians consider it to mean "darkness"), and is one of those found on the Ring-inscription of the One Ring (the final part of the Ring inscription being "...agh burzum-ishi krimpatul", "...and in the darkness bind them"). Some of Burzum's early songs featured titles like "En Ring Til Ĺ Herske" ("One Ring To Rule"); however, Vikernes later explained this to be a reference to the Rheingold of Norse mythology rather than to Tolkien's works, which themselves owe some debt to Norse mythology. As he continued to release albums, Vikernes' attraction to Norse mythology and Pagan beliefs became more and more apparent. Much of Burzum's later music focuses on Norse legends, especially his most recent two ambient albums: Dauđi Baldrs, which deals exclusively with the legend of the death of Baldr, and Hliđskjálf, which recounts the death of Wotan and the approach of Ragnarök.

Musically, Burzum has progressed from primitive, raw black metal to classical-influenced ambient music characterised by minimalist tendencies and dark atmospheres. Vikernes' music is characterised by hypnotic repetition and simple yet profound song structures; this trademark sound has been present on Burzum's black metal and electronic albums alike. Vikernes has described Burzum as a kind of "spell" or recreation of an imaginary world tied in with Pagan history. Each album, he claims, was designed as a kind of "spell" in itself, with each beginning song intending to make the listener more susceptible to "magick", the following songs to inspire a "trance-like state of mind", and the last song to carry the listener into a "world of fantasy" (dreams, for the listener would fall asleep - Burzum was supposed to have been evening music). Vikernes claims the intent to create this fantasy world came from dissatisfaction with the real world. He has stated the "message" of Burzum can be found in the lyrics of the first song of the first album (Feeble Screams From Forests Unknown); the following lyrics act as footnotes.

Currently, Vikernes is in prison for the murder of former musician Řystein Aarseth (Euronymous of Mayhem), as well as the arson of several Christian Churches in Norway, which were previously pagan halls. Vikernes is suspected to have taken part in various other crimes, and was believed to have been planning another church burning at the time of his arrest (police found 100 kg of explosives in his home)[citation needed]. According to Vikernes himself: "...the claim I had plans to blow up churches with my dynamite is from 1994, and was made by a guy working for the police. That was the first time I ever heard of such plans, simply because I have never had any such plans." In 2004 during a week long release from prison, he failed to be back in the preordained time. Some days later he was found riding in a stolen Volvo car, which contained an unloaded AG3 automatic rifle, a handgun, numerous large knives, a gas mask, camouflage clothing, a laptop, a compass, a Global Positioning System, various maps and a fake passport (it is thought that Vikernes came to be in possession of this equipment by means of a military barracks). Thirteen months were added to his sentence as a result.

I have also experienced most of the people supporting me or what I stand for are so-called "Nazis" - while almost everybody else has just condemned me and then boycotted me and everything I have done. What makes me different from the "Nazis" are basically three things; unlike them I am not socialistic (not even on a national level), I am not materialistic and I believe in (the ancient Scandinavian!) democracy.

Varg has stated on burzum.org that "he laughs at people who call him a Nazi" because it is "simply not true", claiming that his earlier connections as a Nazi-like figure was that he tried to describe his ideas and used a politically incorrect or "generalised" term. He also has a good opinion/admiration on the Slavs and their culture. Burzum is often mistakenly labeled as National Socialist black metal (NSBM) because of Varg's ideologies (which are seen as racist), despite the fact Burzum has no National Socialist lyrics. In fact, the only line pertaining to race is from "My Journey to the Stars", which is not racist per se as it illustrates war.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Vikernes has also been labeled a Satanist due to his connections with Mayhem, his anti-Christianity and dark lyrics and one of his songs pertaining to Satan ("Dominus Sathanas"). However, Vikernes also states on burzum.org he never believed in Satanism due to his perception of it being a Judeo-Christian concept and at the time he labeled himself as a Satanist he was under Euronymous' influence and very impressionable. He also believes Satanism is a capitalist concept due to so many black metal bands using it. Vikernes claims he is exclusively Pagan/Odalist.

Many of the Burzum albums feature illustrations by the Norwegian 19th century artist Theodor Kittelsen (1857-1914).

Kataklysm is a Canadian death metal band. They call their musical style "northern hyperblast" after an advertisement in M.E.A.T. magazine describing another band, Fear Factory, as "hyperblast". The term refers to the extremely fast blast beats that Kataklysms drummer, Max Duhamel, fuses into the music.

Kataklysm is well known for their incorporation of movie-quote samples in their music.Kataklysm was formed in 1992. At the beginning of their career they were mostly known for being one of the fastest, most chaotic metal bands. However, their music changed after Sylvain Houde left the band, and bassist/backing vocalist Maurizio Iacono took over Houde's vocal duties, and another full-time bassist was recruited.

In 1998, the band released Victims of This Fallen World, an album which was noted as being a change in musical style from previous albums. The following album The Prophecy (Stigmata of the Immaculate), however, saw the band return to its previous style, though less chaotic and with a touch of thrash metal.

Drummer Max Duhamel is said to have been forced out of the band because of injuries. Eventually, Duhamel recovered from his injuries and participated on Kataklysm's ninth album, In the Arms of Devastation.

Kataklysm's line-up has remained relatively stable compared to many other bands within the metal genre. The band only has one missing original member, Sylvain Houde. Drummers make out most of the band's "former members" list.

The band is currently finishing a new album entitled Prevail, which is set for completion during mid-2007. It is set for release in April 2008. 4 new songs have said to have been written so far, including a song with the same name as the album - "Prevail".
