Once you get home, your energy will be entirely focused on taking care of the little bundle of joy you brought home with you. Say goodbye to nights where you got a full eight hours of sleep. It will be three months before you can even think of that again. This will be far easier if your shower guests all brought you diaper cakes full of handy necessities. There are a few parents that will tell you without hesitation that you will not sleep well again until your children are grown and gone. Sleep deprivation is not something kind to your body, and it is very important to eat healthy and keep your energy up. You would be surprised that toting baby bloomers and diapers can wear you out! The first few months after pregnancy, women tend to eat and drink a lot of empty calories as well as coffee and sugary drinks to get that quick jolt of energy. They do not much consider the very unhealthy effect eating that way will have when the sugar and caffiene high wears off. They are more exhausted than before.
