Interesting how you split them into two lists- i did that for a while but pop tart flavors frustrated that too many "pre-releases" just weren't getting released.Love Freemasons/ Bailey, Spices, GA and Leona.

I think I have my first UK Mix friend!If we call my obviously similar type of music "pop" (and yes, I know it comes from "popular" but I think many people understand "pop" as a genre too which might these days be called "cheese" [!]), then I am confused.Just a few years ago, the charts of the UK were full of "pop" and it sold by the shipload.
Now, there's very little "pop" to buy.
I wonder why record companies took that measure, to cut back on the cheesy pop type acts.
The music did sell well here.
It's because pre-releases don't get released that I went the two list route.
I didn't want to have in my personal chart songs that would eventually fall by the wayside, but I wanted to have those songs somewhere.
Seperating them out felt better because then even if tracks got shelved or postponed, they just vanish.
My pre-releases chart only looks to the next three to four weeks though, so most of them should get a release within a couple of weeks of making my pre-release chart.
And I use the pop tart flavors forthcoming singles thread and HMV.uk's website as my guide to what to include or not. pop tart flavors
Interesting to split out pre-releases then....but surely, a personal chart shouldn't care whether the "track" is a released as a single, or not?
As long as you've heard, and like, the track/song in question, shouldn't it be allowed to chart in your own personal chart?
I can understand why the OCC implements rigorous rules for their charts, but it seems less relevant when an individual is listing their favourite tracks of the moment whether they're on the shelves down at HMV or not...
I think the clue to the choice is in the title pop tart flavors this forum sectionIt would be a boring world if we were all the same with the same ideas and the same perspectives.
