GOLF commentator Kelly Tilghman has been taken off air for suggesting Tiger Woodss opponents might have to lynch him in a back alley. The US Golf Channels Tilghman made the comment on air during coverage of the US PGA Tour season-opening event in Hawaii last week. While joking with English analyst Nick Faldo about Woods, Tilghman said any golfer trying to test Woods "might have to lynch him in a back alley. Now the Golf Channel has suspended Tilghman for two weeks, even though Woods isnt worried about the comment. Mark Steinberg, Woodss agent, issued a statement declaring the uproar was not a major concern. "This story is a non-issue, Steinberg said. "Tiger and Kelly are friends and Tiger has a great deal of respect kelly tilghman Kelly. Regardless of the choice of words used we know unequivocally that there was no ill-intent in her comments. "This story is a non-issue in our eyes. Case closed. Tilghman said in a statement that she meant no insult to Woods jennifer siebel offence to viewers. "On Friday, during our golf broadcast, Nick Faldo and I were discussing Tigers dominance in the golf world and I used some poorly chosen words, she said. "I have known Tiger for 12 years and I have apologised directly to him. I also apologise to our viewers who may have been offended by my comments.
