Sony Daily usage advise on computer
- Sony products VGP-BPS2A are carefully designed to be safe when properly used in accordance with these instructions. Misuse may result in fire or electric shock and lead to personal injury.
- Do not use the computer if it malfunctions. Contact Sony or qualified personnel for servicing.
- If you experience abnormal conditions such as smoke, heat, abnormal sounds and smell, or if you drop a solid object or any liquid on the computer, follow these instructions:
- Turn the power off
- Unplug the power cord and/or the connection cables and remove the VGP-BPS2C battery
- Contact Sony or qualified personnel for servicing
- Do not use cut or damaged connection cables.
- The computer (top and bottom), Presario V3000 battery and the AC adaptor may feel warm to the touch during use. This is normal and the result of the electric current during the charging of the battery or the operation of the CPU. If at any time these items feel abnormally warm, immediately switch off the computer, unplug the power cord from the AC adaptor, remove the Sony VGP-BPS8 battery and contact Sony or qualified personnel for servicing
- Clean the cabinet with a soft cloth, which is dry or lightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use any type of abrasive pad, scouring powder, or solvent such as alcohol or benzene, as these may damage the finish of your computer .
- To avoid electrical shock, make sure you disconnect the power cord before cleaning your computer.
- Do not drop your computer or place any objects on top of the computer.
- Do not use or store your computer in a location subject to: Heat sources, such as radiators or air ducts; direct sunlight; excessive dust; moisture, rain or high humidity; mechanical vibration or shock; strong magnets or speakers that are not magnetically shielded; ambient temperature higher than 95oF (35oC) or less than 40oF (5oC).
- Provide adequate air circulation to prevent internal heat from building up. Do not place your computer or AC adaptor on porous surfaces such as rugs or blankets, or near material such as curtains or draperies that may block its air vents.
- If your computer is brought directly from a cold location to a warm one, moisture may condense inside the Sony VGP-BPS9 computer. In this case, allow at least one hour before turning on the computer. If any problems occur, unplug the computer and contact Sony or qualified personnel for servicing.
- Do not place electronic equipment near your computer. The electromagnetic field of the computer may cause a malfunction.
- Your computer Toshiba pa3534u-1brs uses high-frequency radio signals and may cause interference to radio, TV reception or other A/V equipment. If this occurs, relocate the computer a suitable distance away from the set. Use of Wireless LAN in areas where there is interference may cause the computer to malfunction.
- Sony is not responsible for any interference that you may experience or that may be caused when operating this device.
- Use only specified peripheral equipment and interface cables; otherwise, problems may occur.
- To avoid losing data if your computer is damaged, back up your data regularly. Sony will not be liable even in the event that data is not recoverable as a result of damage to the compute or failure to backup your data.
- Do not exert pressure on the LCD screen or its edges when opening the LCD screen lid or lifting your computer. The LCD screen may be sensitive to pressure or added stress and exerting pressure may damage the screen or cause the screen to malfunction. In the event of damage to the LCD screen, please be careful of broken glass. To open the computer, hold the base with one hand and gently lift the LCD screen lid with the other.
- To carry the computer, make sure to hold the computer Toshiba pa3634u-1brs battery with both hands.
- Use a carrying case specially designed to carry your computer.
- To avoid electrical shock, do not open the cabinet. Refer servicing to qualified personnel only.
- Never install modem or telephone wiring during a lightning storm.
