njection Moulding vs. 3D Printing: Which is Better for Manufacturing?

Hello everyone,

I'm diving into the world of manufacturing and trying to decide between injection moulding and 3D printing for my projects. Both technologies have their unique advantages and applications, but I'm curious about which one might be better suited for different scenarios.

Injection Moulding:

Known for mass production and high efficiency.
Great for producing large volumes of identical parts.
Higher initial costs for moulds but lower cost per unit in large quantities.
Stronger, more durable parts.
3D Printing:

Ideal for prototyping and custom, low-volume production.
Lower initial setup costs.
Greater design flexibility and the ability to produce complex geometries.
Rapid iteration and shorter lead times.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences:

Which technology do you prefer for your manufacturing needs and why?
Have you found one to be more cost-effective or efficient for specific types of projects?
What are the biggest advantages and disadvantages you've encountered with each method?
