On his older fans: “There are a lot of young fans — they’re beautiful and they’re amazing — but it’s the moms that get absolutely crazy. There was one, I was at this signing and there were stairs you had to walk up and everyone was coming one at a time. There was this mom that was in a wheelchair and her daughter came up and got an autograph. And the mom was like, ‘I want one too,’ so she stands right up from the wheelchair and walks right up on stage. I was like, ‘Of course, you can have whatever you want.’ I signed like ten things for her and she walked back down, sat back in her wheelchair and rolled away.”
On the Australian lingo: “I’m still rusty. I was giving an interview the other day and the lady was so nice, she was a sweetheart. We were laughing a lot and I said at the end of the interview, ‘I’m really rooting for you.” She went silent. ‘Hello, you still there?’ She started giggling pretty hard. I realized that that was a bad mistake. A couple days later [someone explained what 'root' meant to me].”
On performing with Hugh Jackman at the Oscars: “It was, but there’s a a safety net. No one’s gonna start hackling you because Wolverine can literally just (makes gesture of strangling). It was fantastic, It was an honor to be up there with those guys. 100% [I get nervous]. I think the Oscars was the most nervous I’ve ever been in my entire life.”

Starring as the lead will be Amanda Seyfried, first reported by IESB and confirmed today by Entertainment Weekly. Also joining the cast - Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Evan Rachel Wood, and Emma Stone. So how's that for one hell of a sexy line-up?
Warner Brothers has graciously given Zack Snyder a $100 million budget for Sucker Punch, so expect something pretty awesome, just like 300 and Watchmen. The four aforementioned actresses - Hudgens, Cornish, Rachel Wood, and Stone - are all fellow inmates who take on fantastical roles in the lead character's mind. Snyder, who co-wrote the script for this with Steve Shibuya, has described the fantasy world as "Alice in Wonderland with machine guns," blending such elements as dragons, B-52 bombers and brothels. Production is schedule to begin in the fall for a October 8th, 2010 release date next year.

The 21-year-old performer is in the land down under to promote the film and dished to the news anchor on the Oscars, his next project and his socks. Check it:
On packing to travel: “My mistake is that I leave things home too much. I leave all the important things at home. I showed up here in Australia and I forgot socks.”
On working with Hugh Jackman at the Oscars: “I actually asked if there was any opportunity to present at the awards and they said, ‘No, no you can’t present at the awards. But you can perform.’ I was like, ‘Me, perform? Who else is doing it?’ They said Hugh Jackman. Done. I was in.”
On getting through the performance: “I’ve never been so nervous in my entire life. The trick is you can’t look down. There are so many incredible actors and actresses just all around you and if you look down for a second, you might actually look at Angelina Jolie. My hat fell off at the end because I was making eye contact.”
On what’s in store for the future: “I don’t know actually. This is an important step for me, so I’m making it a point to take my time and choose wisely.”

D23: Did you really feel part of the fantasy today?
ZE: Yes, as soon as I walked onto the set, I knew it was magic. I love Annie's interpretation of the flowers. I think she used the term brambles.
VH: Yeah, from the fairy tale.

D23: Prior to today had you seen some of the series that started two years ago? First with David Beckham and Beyoncý?
VH: Yeah, I saw it and thought it was so beautifulý gorgeous and so well portrayed.
D23: Vanessa, you're in pretty fast company here. Scarlett Johansson, Beyoncý, Julianne Moore, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Bielý How do you feel joining this line-up of stars?
VH: It's very exciting. I'm so glad to be part of the team. Like I said, I always wanted to be a princess.
ZE: And Prince Phillip's not a bad character to play. I kind of like him. He's a pretty big hero, and it's just before they had this great moment and they are kissing. There was a big adventure that this prince goes oný so it's kind of rough by the time he gets to this scene.
D23: David Beckham was the original character to portray Prince Phillip in the original series two years ago. Now, Zac, you are reprising the role. You both have sports connections. You have the sports connection from High School Musical.
ZE: (Laughing) Yeah, sure. That's so funny. (Vanessa laughs.) We're playing the same character.
VH: You are like the young David Beckham now.
ZE: Well, in theory he was actually fighting the dragon [in an earlier scene], I think. So I'm the older David Beckham.
D23: Because he was brandishing a sword in his photo. Today you are without sword. A kinder, gentler Prince Phillipý
ZE: I checked my sword at the door (laughs). No, if I had a sword in the photo it would look like I came in for a different reason.
D23: So, is this your first experience working with Annie Leibovitz?
ZE/VH: Yes! (at the same time).
D23: But obviously you know her work and have seen a lot of her work.
VH: Yeah, she's such an incredible photographer. I really admire what she's done, and I was so excited to have the opportunity to work with her.
ZE: She's been taking gorgeous pictures for her entire life. I can't believe I got to meet herý I was a fan walking in. I'm downplaying it.
D23: Zac, you mentioned you watched Disney films growing up, and Vanessa I'm sure you did too. Did you have a particularly favorite when you were younger?
VH: Mine was probably Aladdin.
ZE: I was going to say Aladdin.
VE: I love Jasmine, and the music was really great. It was a fun fairy taleý one of the classics.
D23: So, how was the overall the experience today?
VH: It was a lot of fun, it was great.
ZE: (Referring to the scene) I mean she woke up; there was a 50-50 chance she wouldn't wake up (both laughing).
VH: Yeah, you never know.
ZE: And I think we made it out OK.

Zac, 21, and Vanessa, 20, met on the set of Disney’s High School Musical three years ago and played teen couple Troy and Gabriella in the franchise. The young lovers live together in Los Angeles.
“The proposal was something Zac had been thinking about for a while. They are both really excited about the wedding - it will be a star-studded day. They fell in love with Hawaii while there for a friend’s wedding. And Vanessa wants to get married on a beach so it’s perfect.”

Vanessa Hudgens is just one of the many celebrities tipping their hardhat for the Hollywood branch of Habitat for Humanity.
The 20-year-old actress has signed a white hardhat to support Habitat’s mission of providing safe and decent housing for all. All proceeds will go to benefit families served by Habitat for Humanity.
On Vanessa’s hardhat, she wrote a sweet message, saying, “Thanks for all your hard work. All my Love, XOXO.”
Other celebrities with hardhats up for auction are The Jonas Brothers, Zac Efron, Ashley Tisdale, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift.
