Punk ili punk rock je vrsta rock glazbe nastala otprilike 1976. godine u Londonu i New Yorku, u obliku trominutnih jednostavnih pjesama o gnjevu, dosadi, protivljenju vlasti i državi (neki tvrde da su početci bili nekoliko godina ranije). Prve punk grupe bile su The Ramones u SAD-u i Sex Pistols, The Clash i The Damned u Velikoj Britaniji. U Hrvatskoj su također krajem 1970ih godina u Rijeci djelovali Parafi i Termiti. U tim su godinama Sex Pistols i Ramones imali komercijalni proboj, iako su prije njih svirali sastavi kao što su The Stooges iz New Yorka. Punk glazba se ističe minimalnim brojem instrumenata (gitara, bas, bubnjevi), kao i jednostavnošću kompozicije.
