Roswell
Jedan od svakako najpoznatijih UFO slučajeva je slučaj Roswell. U ljeto 1947. godine, u SAD-u je bila velika količina pojava NLO-a. Negdje tamo početkom srpnja W.W. "Mac" Brezel", rančer iz New Mexica, sa djecom susjeda Floydom i Lorettom Proctor, krenuo je provjeriti ovce, nakon oluje koja se dogodila prethodne noći. Putem su nailazili na čudne komade metala, raštrkane većim dijelom puta. Jedan je komad odnio i ocu djece koja su ga pratila putem, a koji mu je rekao kako bi mogao držati komade NLO-a ili nečega što bi moglo biti vladin projekt. Dva dana nakon događaja, slučaj je prijavio šerifu Georgeu Wilcoxu, koji je stvar pak prenio majoru Jesseu Marcelu iz 509 Bomb Group. Prostor gdje se stvar dogodila vrlo je brzo zatvoren za javnost, a pojavio se službeni izvještaj koji je govorio kako je srušeni disk oporavljen. No, vrlo brzo nakon prvog izvještaja, pojavio se drugi, koji je govorio kako je pao meteorološki balon.
U međuvremenu, Glenn Dennis, mladić koji je radio u Ballard Funeral Home (pogrebno poduzeće), primio je neobičan zahtjev iz mrtvačnice vojne baze. Oficir koji je tamo radio, upitao ga je kako sačuvati tijela, koja su bilo izložena vanjskim utjecajima nekoliko dana, ali trebao je i male hermetički zatvorene lijesove. Glenn je otišao u bazu, gdje je vidio čudne krhotine sa gravurama, kako vire iz ambulatnih kola. U bolnici baze, htio je popričati sa medicinskom sestrom koju je poznavao, ali ih je u tome spriječila vojna policija. Sutradan su se našli, i ona mu je nacrtala tijela koja su našli. Nakon nekoliko dana dobila je premještaj u Englesku. Vojska je nesumnjivo na radarima promatrala kretanje NLO-a, a zabilježili su i njihov pad.
Godine 1995. kongresmen Steven Schiff, zatražio je od US General Accounting Officea, da rasvijetli slučaj. GAO je utvrdio kao su mnogi dokumenti Roswell Army Air Helda (RAAF) nestali ili su uništeni. Tako primjerice nedostaju RAAF administrativni dosjei od ožujka 1945. do prosinca 1949. godine i RAAF izlazne poruke od listopada 1946. do prosinca 1949. godine. Podataka o tome tko je dokumente uništio nema. Osim toga, sve ispitane agencije poput FBI, CIA, NSA i drugih negirale su postojanje bilo kakvog incidenta. Projekt Blue Book, koji pokriva sva ovakva događanja vezana uz Air Force ne spominje slučaj Roswell niti na jednom mjestu. Teorija o Roswellu je mnogo, a uz sam Roswell vezana je i grupa Majestic 12. Riječ je o grupi od dvanaest ljudi, regrutiranih iz vojske, znanosti i tajnih službi. Priča kaže, kako su oni bili zaduženi za kontakt sa vanzemaljcima, a po nekim izvorima dva su aliena bila živa kada se NLO srušio. No, nitko nikada nije potvrdio da se Majestic 12 sastao povodom ovoga, niti je službeno potvrđeno postojanje ove grupe. Ipak, jedan od dokumenata deklasificiran 1975. godine potvrđuje kako su tajne službe željele staviti pod nadzor različite grupe koje se NLO fenomenom bave, što je samo jedan od dokaza kako imaju i nešto za sakriti. U svakom slučaju, Majestic 12 je interesantna tema o kojoj će naravno biti još riječi, u ovoj rubrici.
Što se samog Roswella tiče, postoji oko 300 svjedoka, preko rančera, vojnih osoba, predstavnika zakona i reda, a sumnjivo je i što su dana dva izvještaja; u prvom je potvrđeno kako je pronađen leteći disk, a drugi je stvar opovrgao navodeći kako je tek riječ o meteorološkom balonu. Ipak, konkretni dokaz, poput komada broda ili slika aliena ne postoji. Moguće je, kako se stvar dogodila blizu vojne baze da je doista riječ o nekakvoj tajnoj letjelici US vojske, no opet, sumnjivo je uništavanje dokumenata o cijelom slučaju. Neki od teoretičara/analitičara ukazuju na činjenicu kako je neposredno nakon događaja izmišljen tranzistor, pa tvrde kako je tranzistor zapravo donio alien brod koji se srušio u Roswellu. U svakom slučaju teorija je mnogo.
