Vilenjaci su mitološka bića koja donose sreću. Povezujemo ih sa srećom i djetelinom s četiri lista. Vjeruje da je vilenjak nastao iz zmaja Hydre jer vilenjake povezujemo sa vodom i srećom, a vilenjaci se rode svaki put kad netko ubere ili pojede dijetelinu s četiri lista. Djetelina je Hydrino jelo jer joj to daje snagu, a kako djetelina napuhuje, Hydra izgleda strašnije.
Međutim mnogo poznatij vilenjak je klasični (germanski) vilenjak. Ovi vilenjaci se pojavljuju u dosta mitova. Oni su najljepša od svih bića. Ljudske su visine i izgleda, samo što imaju duge šiljaste uši. Nemaju ni brade ni brkova. Besmrtni su i imaju moć nad prirodom.
Vilenjak je malo bice ljudskog oblika koje ima nadnaravnu moc.
Engleska rijec za vile i vilenjake "fairy" potjece od starofrancuske rijeci "faerie" i latinske "fate" sto znaci sudbina.
U staroj se Grckoj vjerovalo da vile Mojre upravljaju ljudskom sudbinom.

Cvjetni vilenjaci
Prekrasna stvorenja koja utjelovljuju duh cvijeca,grmlja ili drveca.Mozete ih naci svuda gdje raste cvijece i drvece.
Elfi
Vesela stvorenja koja zive u kolonijama pod yemljom.Obozavaju zabave,glazbu i ples,a poznati su kao patuljci koji iyvode nepodopstine!
Piksici
Zaigrani nestasni patuljci.Zapadni okrug u Velikoj Britaniji poznat je po vrijednim,ali i zlocestim piksicima (eng.pixies ili piskies,kako ih nazivaju u Cornwallu).S vremena na vrijeme napadaju putnike.
Goblini
Mala grotesna stvorenja koja vole zadavati nevolje ljudima.Medutim,homogoblini su prijateljski raspolozeni i imaju smisao za humor (i skloni su nepodopstinama!)
Domaci
Vrijedni mali ljudi koji ponekad pomazu u kucnim poslovima.Prica se za njih da posjecuju seoska gospodarstva i obavljaju poslove dok obitelj spava.
Patuljci
Patuljci koji se bave rudarstvom.Ne izlaze na svjetlo dana,nego se drze pod zemljom jer bi se na danjem svjetlu pretvorili u kamen.

Mali bradati ljudi koji cuvaju skriveno blago u sumama i brdima gdje zive.
Leprekoni
Mudri irski vilenjaci koji nose tronoge sesire.Svaki leprekon ima skriveni vrc sa zlatom.
